No, I don't like having strangers in my house on a regular basis. My friends have a house cleaner and they leave the house every time she comes over. Who wants to do that?

I do most of ours. It's just the two of us and there are things like baseboards that are getting harder but I get them done. DH does what he can inside. Our sons have been helping with the lawn.

I am too picky to have someone else clean. Lol

No. Just me and I live in a 1-bedroom apartment.

Not much cleaning to do - and what there is I can do myself.

Told ya! Cleaning has become the "thing to do!"

I usually pay $20 per hour. Wouldn't mind that if they really cleaned!

I do all the light cleaning myself. I keep clean sinks and toilets! Even mop (kitchen - 2 baths) with microfiber mops if needed.

I bought a lightweight stick vac that I use to get "messes."

You should be able to find someone for that price! Keep looking!

Have the person come in before your surgery so you will know what to expect. Some need your suggestions. I don't need the inside of my windows done once a month??? Easy money!

No, I have always cleaned our home myself. There ARE times I would love to find someone but... doubt I will.

O/P I say do yourself a service and have that help...if you are anything like me...I can not relax unless our home is clean. You do not need to put that stress on yourself. Wishing you a quick recovery!

We do. I work away from home and my husband works from home, but sometimes has to go to the office. (Several days at home, some in the office) We have a house cleaner that comes one every two to three weeks. She vacuums,dust, etc. She'll wash the windows too. We've been doing this for the past 5 or so years. We get along great with her. My house looks pretty neat. I sometimes will clean out the bathroom in between as I want a very clean bathroom all the time. We got her from a neighbor of ours.

I was going to add. When I was about 9 or 10, my mom had an accident (at work) She broke her leg. So for a house with 4 kids (3 of them a year apart) it was too much. Our house got messy. My parents hired a maid (I think insurance paid for it ....not sure) They came every 2 weeks for abut 6 months. They scrubbed the house top to bottom. Never looked so good.

When my Mom and Dad turned 75, they started having someone clean their home. They would move to another room if necessary but never felt the need to leave. And it worked out great!

A lot of people are home while their houses are cleaned. I know I would not feel the need to leave If I had someone clean my house.

Since my husband worked from home, there is always someone at home when the maids come. I would never let someone not related to us alone in our house.

yes, we have a large ranch style home.

while i do do some cleaning, i still need some help with it, especially with all of the kids gone. i have a team come in every other week and they are here about 3 hours. if i am having guests or a party or during major holidays, i get them in more often. its a big help!

@Queen of shop , not crazy at all. I like a clean house too. My dh vacuums & cleans both of our bathrooms and I do the rest. I don't like clutter, so it's an easy job for me. I don't do any yard work, so I try to keep it easy for him to mow the lawn.
