Re: Do you have house cleaning help?

No, I do all my own house cleaning.  I am not sure how I woul feel with someone doing it for me...I think I would feel odd.

I'm getting quotes from services. One of them said $130 for our 1300 sq Ft house. Yikes

@Mom2Dogs I felt happy if they cleaned.  I fired them if they didn't.  Never felt odd though!  Woman LOL

@smoochy  that's not bad especially if it's for 4 hours. I tried it twice but I'm so organized and i would clean and dust before they came. She knew what I did so she decided to do the windows, refridgerator and the vacuuming. Then she asked if she could clean the oven. I had to explain to her that it was a self cleaning oven so she decided to wipe down the inside.

My husband asked why do I do that and so he gave up. My sister does the same thing.

Re: Do you have house cleaning help?

I am quite capable of cleaning my home myself, but I have absolutely no desire to do so. I have a service that comes every other week. They do a great job and I'm happy to pay for their service. Now if I could just get a personal chef. Woman Wink

@smoochy  I don't remember reading about your neck surgery. If it's Cervical Spine Fusion, you will be down for a while. Lots of restrictions. I had two C3-C4 and C6-C7. No pain after but it was very uncomfortable with the neck brace.

Get the cleaners in a dy or two before your surgery because a clean house makes you heal faster because you'll be able to relax.

All the best and just relax and take it easy.

I'm having discectomy and fusion of C 3-5. Two weeks in a brace or collar, six weeks of restrictions. How long were you restricted for driving, normal movements etc?

@smoochy

Yes, I absolutely  have help. I lucked out because the lady that I use, came highly recommended from a good girlfriend of mine that has had her cleaning her home for about 15 years.

She has cleaned my home for about 2 years, and I will never give her up. LOL She comes in once a month and does a deep clean, and I  keep the place tidy in between her visits. I work full time, and the last thing I want to do is spend my entire Saturday cleaning.

My home is just under 1600 sq. Ft. and I pay $135.00 a month. Well worth it.

I will of course be praying for you when you have your surgery.

Re: Do you have house cleaning help?

Have always done my own house cleaning but after DH retired, he did a lot of things to help out and he still does the things he is able to.  After I retired, I took on a lot of yard work as well.  We have recently had to hire someone to do mowing, plus another to take care of shrubs, etc.  We have done them all along, but now we are not such great health, so it's getting too difficult.  I don't plan on getting someone to do housecleaning.  I don't want a strange person in my house messing around - I'm just funny that way.  DH and I will do our indoor chores as long as we are able.

Re: Do you have house cleaning help?

I don't have help cleaning though I'd love to.

My dog sheds like crazy. i have more hair on the wood floor within 30 minutes. It's my dog's home so too bad if others don't like it.
