I like pretty much all the TV chefs on PBS. Jacques Pepin is a particular favorite. I like Ming Tsai and the Japanese chefs on Cooking With the Chef too.

There is one I don't care for at all. The Jazzy Vegetarian. She has her overly auto tuned voice singing throughout the show and not only is it bad, it's distracting. Her recipes are not very appetizing, which is a shame. Some appetizing vegetarian recipes would be nice. I'm not at all attracted to vegan.

I can even stand to watch her commercials. When it's on, I hit the mute ,or change the channel ,and my husband feels the same way

I know a lot of people don't care for her, but I really like Rachael Ray. If you are familiar with her background, she worked hard to get where she is, and I admire that. Most of all any of her recipes that I have tried has been a success, and I can't say that about every famous chef's recipe that I have attempted. She is very clear that she is a cook, not a chef, and that's fine.

All of the current and former PBS cooks and chefs.  Ina Garten is a fave.

I especially liked Nigella Lawson and Janie Oliver's shows ( same producers as Ina Garten I believe). Ina Garten,  Gordon Ramesy's F Word show (British version), Two Fat Ladies, Good Eats's Alton Brown, Vivian Howard's show A Chef's life. Scandinavian Cooking, Two Hot Tamales, Scott Conant (meow) and Bobby Flay (and I adore his new show with Damaris Phillips).

I could go on, apparently I like more than I dislike.

DS -- he's an Executive Chef, but was on tv before he had that title.

I always watch: Trisha Yearwood, Valerie Bertonelli & Pioneer Woman

Re: Do you have a favorite chef or cook?

What a neat thread, @cherry.  Chalk another one up for Jacques Pepin-- his charm and his sweetness are irresistable.

Maybe my all-time favorite is Mary Ann Esposito.  She had (or has?) a cooking show called "Ciao Italia".  She seems so dear.  I liked it when she went to Italy and cooked in various people's kitchens there.  Italian home cooks, who have the advantage of all those wonderful ingedients there-- mmmmm.

Some TV chefs do seem full of themselves, and even if I like what they are making, I can't follow them through a whole recipe.

Oh, the Two Fat Ladies that someone mentioned were priceless too.  They were more of a quirky miniseries than a cooking show-- compulsively watchable.

Re: Do you have a favorite chef or cook?

I have a TV channel called Britbox and they have cooking shows. They have a prgram called Two Hairy Bikers , that is just as fun, well almost as fun, as the Two Fat Ladies

For those of you that love all things British, its a terrific channel ,and well worth the money

Roku has it

I’m a fan of Lidia and Ina. I have both shows set to auto record & catch up every few days.
