If you are on Facebook and you have news pages or any pages do you comment under stories?
I commented under a music story and some guy tried to pick me up by saying can you contact me, and tell me more about yourself, Id like to get to know you! (unreal!). I immediately deleted my comment on the music story. (I'm happily married, AND it was a music story I commented on, NOT a dating page!)
Then when certain things happen in life I would comment my opinion and suggestions on news pages, and some people challenged me by trying to argue. (Some people are very mean on news topics!).
So now I just hit like under the comments, as in with the comment I agree with! But I never type my own opinion anymore. Its a shame some people can be so nasty and inconsiderate under these stories on FB. No wonder there is so much bad going on in the world since people cant even get along posting opinions.
So anyway I was wondering if this happend to you and do you comment under stories? Me- no more commenting on FB!

yes, i comment under stories on facebook and i am interested generally to read what others have to say. when i get unidentified friend requests or people commenting negatively on my post then i pretty much just ignore.

I comment on articles on news sites, but not on FB. So far, no one's tried to pick me up. True, you can get entangled in controversial topics. On days I don't feel like dealing with it, I do as you do - I "like" other people's comments.

I've never had anyone try to hit on me, but definitely have encountered contentious people. I often think of deactivating my account simply because Facebook just doesn't seem fun any more, not to mention the privacy issues, but even then your data is never deleted. But that is another subject. You can block people, too, which I've done. Blocked people will never again as your posts and comments.

The only comments I ever make are under the "comment for a chance to win" entries from Amazon or Kellogs which tend to be pretty innocuous.
Never to a news story. "Like" only!

Yes, I occasionally comment, on local or national news stories. I say what I think, very frankly. I am never surprised to get snark and insults - that's what some people do on FB all day long. I usually do not retort to comments made to me (never had a pick-up attempt, lol), but will occasionally. Any time I don't want to see or engage any more I can turn off the notification for that thread.
What complete strangers, many of whom having the intellect and writing ability of turnips, think of me doesn't faze or frighten me - and I can "turn it off" if/when I choose.

Yes I'll comment on FB stories.

Yes, I do it all of the time. Mainly, though I just make contact with friends and family. I've never had a problem when I comment on an issue probably because I'm careful with what I comment on. If someone makes a negative sounding response to me (rare) it never has gotten bad because I move on. I don't go back and forth. It takes two to argue.

Yes I do comment on FB, when I get negative comments, it's usually something that was on our local news! I have never been picked up, but I have gotten lots of friend request from men I don't know .............. I have no idea why .......... I do not hide that I am a gray-haired grandma, LOL!

I'm afraid of it; wouldn't know how/what to do to sign up. About fifteen or more years ago, a classmate signed me up with a fictitious name, on her computer, as I recall, and I ended up having a FB page with someone else's name on it, from another rather questionable country. That was enough for me. 'No sir-eeee, not for me'. (lol)
