Cortland!  Have made 3 apple cakes and 2 apple crisps within the past two weeks for family and friends.....best season of the year!!

Me, too, for Cortland

I first tried this apple when visiting New England and was so happy with the taste, I ordered some to be shipped home to California since we don't have them here.  Unfortunately, they didn't travel well.

 

Instead I eat Pink Lady apples.  They are crisp, juicy, and not too sweet.

Ginger gold is the best, but I like honey crisp , pink lady and fugi too.
