Re: Do you admit when you're wrong?

Yes, if I recognize that I am wrong....sometimes you don't know until much later.... Then you eat crow:-)

Re: Do you admit when you're wrong?

Of course I admit when I am wrong.  What's the big deal?  I don't know how you can ever trust/believe someone who can't.

Are you a person who immediately admits that you were wrong or do you find it hard to do?  I know someone who will swear up and down one thing, but when proven wrong she will never say she was wrong.  It's some sort of pride thing, I guess.

What do you all think?

Yes, I admit when I am wrong.  I find most people are very forgiving.  Just today I accidentally pulled out in front of someone, we ended up across from each other. He started to yell,  I said how sorry I was, he said OK, no problem, do not worry about it.

Re: Do you admit when you're wrong?

I think this is a loaded question.

Most mature adults admit when they are wrong. Like when they show up for an appointment at 3:00, are told it was scheduled for 2:00 and see they were wrong when they pull the appointment card out of their wallet to check. Yep, made a mistake, I'm wrong.

But I think OP and many others expect that others need to 'admit they are wrong' when arguing a side of a topic they don't agree with. Some people think they give 'the facts' and those can't be disputed and others won't see the light and 'admit they are wrong'. In that case where it is actually opinion, or a discussion based on disputable facts (or both sides have lots of 'facts') then no, people should not admit they are 'wrong' but should agree that there are two sides (and usually each one has some merit).

@Mominohio I think in that case people won't admit they are wrong because they truly don't believe they are wrong.  It would be nice, though, if they could concede that there is another perfectly viable take on the situation Smiley Happy

Edited to say that I reread your post and you said the same thing lol

I found it's easier to admit you're wrong, eat some crow and move on.  I do it on a daily basis...Smiley Happy)

Re: Do you admit when you're wrong?

I have no problem admitting I am wrong.

I find in RL and here some people have the need to ALWAYS be right. (even when they are wrong) I try to avoid those people.

Re: Do you admit when you're wrong?

I often wish and hope that I'm wrong, regarding certain situations/topics of discussion.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
