This video brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting it!

I remember as a 7-10 year old going to a nearby city to shop on Broad Street, with my mom, aunt and grandmother. All the big department stores were on that street, along with the movie theaters I spent a lot of time in. Woolworth's was where we usually went for lunch. As a teenager, I ate many Saturday lunches there with my friends. We would often "shop" all day, and never buy a thing except lunch, lol!

Salaries were way lower then, too, of course. I remember Woolworth grilled cheese sandwiches being about 40 cents when I was a teen. My first job, at an insurance co, in Boston, pd me 50 dollars a week in the late 1960s.

I was born in 1955. I never did go to a woolworths store in the Seattle WA area growing up... BUT>>>>My Mother did take me to Fredrick and Nelsons where they had a real nice restaurant in the store .. I had fancy squares of red jello topped with whipped cream and served in a fancy clear crystal dish... it was my favorite thing besides their tuna sandwiches and their Club House sandwiches too!
Aren't memories like yours just the best!?

@Toots711 Woolworth brings back lots of good memories! My momma and I would spend lots of time on stools together looking at Simplicity, Butterick and McCalls sewing patterns back in the day! We would then grab a bite on the way out.

@Enufstuff I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin. A fire chief that chose to retire in Florida...so sad. My heart and prayers are with youđź’“

We used to stop in Woolworth after school on Fridays for an ice cream soda..There was one right near my high school..
My parents always got annoyed about that...
They owned a candy store / soda fountain!
Remember how big Hershey bars were for 5 cents??..Oh wait mine were free..LOL

I didn't get to eat at Woolworths, not getting to town until late Saturday afternoon, but I bought my first lipstick there.
There was the most beautiful, darling, kind woman at the makeup counter. I lived talking to her. She looked exactly like a brunette Barbie. Ponytail, bangs, and red lipstick! At 13, she helped me to pick out tasteful items.
Years later, a newspaper article called her the "Angel" that took care of those that had given blood.
She passed about 10 years ago. I wish I could have seen her.

I remember when someone told us about a new restaurant on the other side of town and sold hamburgers for twenty five cents.
