Yes, I remember and its hard to believe things have changed so drastically.
I remember a time when I lived in Houston in the 1960s during a "gas war" (remember those?), gasoline was 18¢ a gallon.

In the late 60’s my friends and I always went Christmas shopping at our local mall. We ate at Woolworths every time. My mother told us, if we ate there we had to tip. I remember they always had balloons that you could pop if you ordered a banana split. One year we got a .08 one. Yes, we were excited. I think the balloons had values .01 to .79 cents. Good memories!

Oh yes! Woolworth's had the BEST BLTs ever! And their hot fudge sundaes and ice cream sodas were wonderful.Oh, how I miss those days!
