I think they have done a pretty good job and made every effort to make this board what it is supposed to be.

I was never one who had the desire to find my, or anybody else's, old posts so that was never an issue of mine.

I think there will always be SOME who are bent on making everything what THEY think it should be, so they will never be happy and that's fine.  Nobody likes all the same things.  But if one wants something to be just what pleases them, with no regard for the rest of the population, it's pretty easy to start your own board.  That way you can customize it to your own desires.  Smiley Happy

I am pretty glad to not be seeing scores of complaining threads anymore, many of which were about the same exact complaints from a small percentage of the population here.   That got tedious.

People either settle in or they move on.  Nothing wrong with that.  One thing I did the first day, to acclimate myself to the changes, was to go through ALL of the settings.  I unchecked a ton of stuff so I don't see any of the clutter or have available any of the features that didn't appeal to me.  One can customize it quite a bit.

There are a couple (only a couple) of features we previously had here, but not anymore, that I do miss but - oh well.  It is what it is.  Smiley Happy

I still prefer the previous format.  Sorry.

@Krimpette

Please don't apologize!

Most of the remarks here relate to how we must allow 30 days or whatever to adapt or get functional with change.

In this case, I'm still of a mind that unless it's broken, don't fix it!  Plus, the big AND here for me was that the functionality of the new site was so shockingly horrible as to drive many people away.  I'm still having log-in issues: when the change was implemented, I lost the ability to sign in on the purchasing side about 80% of the time.

Under normal circumstance, giving oneself 30 days to learn and adapt sounds reasonable.  However, the old site was taken down and replaced with what you place in a trash receptacle.  30 days in this case was a j**e.  One cannot begin to learn until such time as what you're trying to learn is presented in its entirety, with ALL of the humongous bugs worked out.

Does anyone remember the movie, Gigi?  There's a scene in the movie where Hermione Gingold and Maurice Chevalier singing a song, "I remember it Well."

He's singing about their good experiences and she's singing him the reminders of those experiences in not such fond terms.

This is what the thread is about.  We did have good times back i the day but a lot of it was awful because of lax moderation.

I actually enjoy the new board and terms even if I get "poofed."

I think the new boards are fine and the updates have made it more modern.  I do think however, that at times we are over-moderated.
