Yes, often.  In line at stores, people walking their dogs, in waiting rooms.  I'm not usually the one who starts a conversation, but sometimes.

I stood in front of the house not long ago talking to a woman with the most incredible large dog I've ever see.  She works with an animal rescue group I support. I'd never seen her before that day.

All my working life was with the public...banking...market...clothing..so i had to talk to strangers...and i got so i enjoyed it...

It is not unlike me to strike up a conversation in the aisles while i am grocery shopping...or the doctors office...I am very friendly...as was my mom....and sister...

I've had at times more honest and meaningful conversations with complete strangers than with people I know.

I do.  Sometimes, people seem surprised when I talk to them, but then they start responding....and seem happy to talk.

One of the hardest times for me was when I lived outside the US, in a country where there were three official languages, as well as many other unofficial ones.  No one talked to each other!

Once I came back to this country, I became very chatty.

I ride the bus to work so there are many "regulars" on my route who started out as strangers and became friends.

That should have been on the "I'm So Old..." thread - I'm so old that I talk to strangers in the checkout line.  (I do it, too.  I'm not mocking lol)

I always do.  Makes the time go much faster if you are waiting for something.
