Re: Do You Like Magic❓

Yes, I do.  I know it's not real, but enjoy it anyway.  I especially like David Blaine (illusionist). I enjoy his stunts.  I find it interesting how well they can fool us with the slight of hand and their knowledge of human behavior.  They would have to be good at predicting human behavior in order to pull off these illusions.

No, not at all. I keep trying to figure out how the trick is done and, unable to figure it out, I feel nothing but frustration.

I do, but I'd compare magic to a mystery book. When it comes to the end, I want to know how it was done. It's frustrating to keep wondering how someone can make the Statue of Liberty disappear!

I admit that I am not. It relies on deception to fool the audience, and I don't like to be deceived.

So, do you enjoy magic shows?

@Anonymous032819    Many years ago I went to see Siegfried and Roy in Vegas.  My friend and I had front row seats.  At one point Roy walked one of those gigantic tigers to the edge of the stage.  All I could see was teeth.  I couldn't even pay attention to the magic tricks after that.        So...no more magic shows for me.

@AuntG That's it!  I don't particularly like magic, but as I was reading through the responses, it's not because it's fake, or I feel deceived - I just couldn't put my finger on why I don't like magic.  You gave me the answer - I need closure!  I want to know the details.  Thank you!

I've seen a couple of card tricks before and I don't mind those.

But I know I would get bored at a magic show.
