I've even sliced up toads and snakes in my Toro Recycler lawn mower. If you ever baled hay, you might recall finding snakes, gophers and baby birds in various stages of decay within the bales.
I have bailed hay and you are correct, rattlesnakes in our area.

Speaking of foxes...you have to see this video of a sweet fox. I had no idea they make these sounds when happy.

Yes I am, but I'm about to go stir crazy. We finally got some sun today and tomorrow we are going to break freezing, so finally some melting is in sight.
I gotta get out of here tomorrow for a bit

(aka rats with bushy tails)...they are a real nuisance and eat birdseed as fast as I can put it out for the birds.....also bugs.....they are free to live outside but not inside.....and last but not least......fire ants! I go organic for our lawn but for fire ants I make an exception.....the more toxic the chemical I can find to destroy them, the better!
I was at my Sisters in FL last month. She had several areas with fire ants. Tiny little things with a BIG "bite." She had 2 spots on her arm that were the size of bee stings. Nasty little things, and she says they are so hard to get rid of.

I did have an infestation of Norway Rats last summer after a neighbor did some digging for new patio. Those had to go...Sulfur Bombs.
I had a rat years ago that decided to move in when a house was built up the road. A huge woods rat. He would jump at me when I was working in the flower beds. I'm a good shot.
Interesting.
These rats would crawl up and eat out of my bird feeders, and drink out of my bird bath. It was awful. I thought our red tailed hawks would get them, but they moved in with all their relatives in tow. Only thing that worked were the Sulfur Bombs. Like a giant firecracker, with a long fuse. Stick it in the hole, and run around and cover other holes when you see the yellow smoke coming out of the ground...Man did that stuff stink.
