What do you think of if a woman should offer you a seat on the bus, train, or subway? Do you immediately think it's because she feels you are (or look) old and need a seat? Or, perhaps she is just being nice, since she's getting up to leave and thought you might like a seat? If this has happened to you, do you consider it an insult? I am doing a behavioral study for a class I'm taking and wonder what the average woman feels about this kind of situation.
This doesn't include men giving up seats, since some guys are just inclined to do it, no matter how old a woman is. I'm just concerned with women giving up seats. Thanks for any input!
