A friend of mine just got engaged to a man she met thru Eharmony.com. after 3 months. The man said he gave her a ring because he didn't want her dating other men. She accepted that.

Yes, though I'm not sure about five or more years... I personally think that marrying at a later age than in one's early to mid-twenties makes the most sense. I'm not sure most people have lived enough to know what they really want before they hit their late twenties and early thirties, realizing, of course, that we're all different and the same rules don't apply to everyone.
