Kind of not.  making others happy and giving to them has a byproduct of making me happy, so it really is a circle.

I don't agree.  I think each person in the relationship should give as well as receive.

i don't agree.  When I fall in love, it makes me happy first, but I know that the person I fall in love with is happy too!  Sometimes, the bloom falls off the rose and the love doesn't last though!

It's worded strangely. 

Part of the beauty of a loving relationship is both people allowing themselves to also receive what the other is capable of giving at the time, which is fluid and dynamic. It's giving and also allowing yourself to receive...imho
