@Trailrun23, I do remember seeing the monorail going into the resort!  Our family (my dad) was a budget person, and so we stayed off resort.  I remember saying to him that I thought it would be neat to stay there!  He kind of looked at me with that stern dad face, meaning when you pay for it, go for it!  Haha, at least that's how it was interpreted at the time!

I remember thinking that the Cinderella castle was a main attraction.  I ran towards it with my sister, and much to my dismay, it was just a facade!  I thought I was going to see Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, or Rapunzel in there!  Or maybe some fancy furniture or something!  I just walked right through it thinking, is this all there is?

I've been to Disney World 3 times. Went on a family vacation back in the 80s when my nieces and nephews were school age. Went with my aunt and sister once without kids.

The most interesting trip was when I took my husband there in 2002. He did not want to go. Saw it only as a place for kids. Like me he grew up watching Walt Disney on TV on Sunday nights, but he's not a Disney fan. I'm more of a Disney Classics fan. Love the older animated & live action movies best.

Anyway, my husband absolutely loved Disney World! He realized quickly that the attractions weren't just for kids. He was very impressed with the properties, technology, and everything that goes into making the parks and attractions run so smoothly. (I think that's the engineer in him.)

We stayed inside the park and had access to monorail and buses. He really liked the technology attractions and countries in Epcot. He's a movie buff so MGM Studios was enjoyable for him too. He also had fun in Animal Kingdom. We also visited Magic Kingdom which he liked, but not as much as the other 3 parks. I love all the parks! They each have different things to offer.

I loved every trip to Disney World. It's a place to have fun and that makes me smile. My family has been thinking about going back, but the cost has really skyrocketed. I'm not sure we want to spend that much money.

When I was about 12 my Dad took me to Disney Land. Had a WONDERFUL time. My Dad was so impressed with how well run, clean and enjoyable the park was.

As soon as Walt Disney World opened, Dad took us. Only Magic Kingdom was open. It was so crowded that the entrance of the Park closed at noon because of all the people. We got in before the entrance closed. But we got on one ride. It was the Skyway. At least we got to see all the people and the different rides.

Dad felt bad that we flew down and got on one ride. Boy, was Orlando Airport was quite an experience. We walked from the hanger out on the tarmac to climb the stairs onto the plane.

Dad took us again the next year. I was hooked. It was a whole different atmosphere. The bus drivers were full of interesting stories. Like an older man refused to sell his home and land. So as long as he lived, he lived in his house on Disney property. He had a nice house along one of .the many roads.

Went to Walt Disney World every few years. Then I became a Castmember for Disney. And I went about twice a year. Sometimes with family, sometimes with other castmembers. Got to know quite a few castmember who worked in Walt Disney World.

Became a Disney Vacation Club Member. And started going on Disney Cruises.

Last time we went to Walt Disney World was Christmas 2021. And we decided never again. We had to make reservations to get into each of the Parks and reservation if your wanted to eat at a sit down restaurant.

It took me hours on numerous days to plan our trip. Getting reservations to eat was tough. It took 4 hours to get one reservation a day in each Park. And I was given a list of restaurants where the family wanted to eat. Couldn't get reservations in most restaurants they wanted.

The Parks were so crowded. We had to wait in line an average of 90 min - 2 hours 20 minutes for each ride. We only got on 2 or 3 rides in each Park. We didn't even try and go on the newer rides. And surprisingly many rides were not open. Like "It's a Small World" and "Muppets 3 D".. They are are rather simple attractions but both were closed.

Animal Kingdom, I got SOAKED on Kali River Rapids. Since it was Christmas the water was rather cold. I had been on that ride numerous times before and only gotten sprayed with water, at most. We had reservations for Yak and Yeti right after the ride. I sat in a puddle of water through the meal. My clothing was dripping so much water. I left to go back to the room. I was wet and miserable.

That pretty much summed up our trip. We were tired of standing in line, tired of trying to get around all the traffic at the Parks, waiting for buses to take us back to our room (oh, the stories, I could tell about electic wheelchairs) , it was not an enjoyable trip.

And we all agreed Never Again.

Ditto! - Even as a kid, I never wanted to go.

The thought of standing in long lines - In the heat - did not appeal to me at all. Smiley Tongue

@drizzellla ,  those are the things that I have heard lately from my son and dil.  They said they changed a lot of things and not for the better.

We've been to DW about 6 times, no kids. We really enjoy Epcot and always stay at the resorts located at Epcot.

First time we went in August, now, we go in the fall when it's cooler.
