Been to DW several times, my kids 58, 56 and 48 still talk about it.  Not always fondly.  HOT and I don't like, hot. For our 50th anniversary we took our 3 kids, their families total 12 of us on a Disney Cruise.  That was truly enjoyable.  My grandchildren loved it and were amazed they didn't have to pay for anything.  Been on several cruise lines and must say Disney was right up there with the other lines.

@Coastalcarolina   Ive read some wonderful and not so wonderful responses to your question.  To me, WDW is not just a place, it's a feeling. BUT, you do have to go knowing there will be inconveniences, it's terribly expensive these days, and you will never get to do everything you want to do.

All I can tell you is that at 75, when I go, I feel like I've traveled to all the places I will never get to see.  I get to do things , see things, meet interesting people, that I never would have the opportunity to do normally.

I've been hooked since my daughter was married there 10 years ago. It was my first trip.  It was a day out of a fairytale. She had the carriage, horses, footmen, Donald, Daisy, she even had her reception in the apartment that was built for Walt Disney, and Roy when they were there.  It was a magical day and that same magic is in my heart when I go. There is no comparison to the sites and sounds and the overall magical feeling  of Disney.

That indeed, is one of the sweetest responses.  I think I get what you are saying.  We all make memories with our families in various places for sure.  I think wherever it is that takes you to "that" place, is magical for sure.  Thank you Heart

@bikerbabe   I wish you could have been at my daughers Disney Fairytale wedding.  Donald and Daisy were at the reception and danced with with us and , of course, lots of pictures.  It was magical and I was 65.

Perfect description. Brought back so many wonderful memories! The first time I went was in 1984.  I was as an adult and took my mother who had always wanted to go. We had a wonderful time. I have been back many times with my daughter and then with my grandsons. At 71 with another grandson on the way I hope in a few years I can get there one more time. Disney World through the eyes of a child is the best. I would never go in the summer!

One of my grandgirls was about age 5 and Belle came by our dinner and gave hugs and kind words. My grandgirl whispered to me "Granddi, THAT was the real Belle."

I loved Disney World when we  went.  I'm not sure how it is today.  I can remember as a kid seeing Disneyland being advertised on tv and wishing that I could go!

The first time I got to go was in 1977 and I had gone with my old boyfriend.  We had driven down to Florida and visited many places....Disney was just one place that we stopped to see for a couple of days and it was fun.

I went to Disneyland with DH before kids.  Once we had kids we took them to DW three times.  The first was really magical since the kids were small enough to believe that the characters hanging around in the park were real.

We had gone to a dinner where Chip & Dale wandered around greeting guests and we have a video of my then four year old son hugging them and not letting them leave our table!  I several other videos of the kids having a wonderful time and it's so much fun to look back at some of those precious memories.

Both kids went as teens on their high school class trip and I'm sure my daughter would love to bring her son when he's old enough.

I went again with my brother right before the pandemic in 2019.  We decided when we went to visit mom in S Fl we would take a trip for a few days and we stopped at Kennedy Space Center then on to DW.  We only went for a full day at Epcot and another day spent at the resort.  It was still great fun with a lot of laughs even though we had no kids along.

We have been to Disney World many times. Both with our kids when they were growing up and as adults ourselves. There is so much to do. So many different areas to check out. Beautiful surroundings, love the plantings, flowers, topiary. Have many options for dining. We never go in the Summer so don’t have a problem with heat or longer lines. Epcot is our favorite place to visit, the fireworks show, walking around all the different lands. Just a fantastic place for all ages.

I finally made it to Disney World when I was 40, never got to go as a kid or any other time. I loved it. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go to Animal Kingdom but I visited all the other parks.

I went in early April when the floral festival was happening (can't remember the official name),:and the flowers and topiary sculptures were so beautiful.

I saw a baseball game at the park in Disney. Got my photos with characters, saw the fireworks. It was magical, I really felt like a kid. If you just let all the stress factors go and experience it like you should and escape reality it's wonderful.
