Why in the world would she do something like that?

Making reservations and paying for people she doesn't even know?

You don't do something and then start worrying about it AFTER it is a done deal.

I would be very uncomfortable for my father to "step in" and pay for everybody instead. So he can be out the money for my bad decision?

It is on her, sometimes you need to pull up the big girl panties and accept responsiblilty when you do hasty things.

The thing is the rest of the family wanted to "wait" til they got there..but your friend went and made reservations. To me that is on her own..and for her to let her dad pay for such a thing..I certainly would not allow my parents to pay for something that is on me.

They all wanted to wait and she didn't..so therefore it is on her.

Nice of dad to do that, but I don't really understand why anyone is paying for dinners for people they don't even really know.

I never understood why a crowd would all want to vacation together anyway.

A lot of restaurants require a credit card to hold the reservation. You're not pre-paying for the meal on that credit card.

If the party doesn't show up, sometimes they will charge a no-show to the credit card on file.
