Our Dillards is a "outlet" now and clearly marked on doors...all sales final no returns.

I haven't shopped Dillards once they changed over to outlet & started this policy on reopening after Covid shutdown.

And Macy's is worse.  I don't buy many clothes but these are stores I won't shop for this reason.

That's funny @homedecor1 , I guess it depends on the Macys in your area.  I have no problems returning items to a Macys in my region.  Never have.  They have a 90 day return policy.  That beats the Q's 30 day return policy for sure.

@gertrudecloset

our Macy's store is dying a slow death from bare shelves to no salespeople☹️

It is sad because I have always found nice clothing in Macy's.  Now coupons sent have lots of exclusions and the "last call" is non returnable (at least our store clearly marked on tag).

As for Q I don't buy any apparel costs to much to try on and I end up not wanting to 🤞🏻 The exchange will fit.  If not, then I'm out more $$$.

I've been searching for a nice outfit for 2 special functions -- no luck yet ...but I've got 3 months to find it.

@homedecor1  I guess it does come down to traffic and location.  This does sadden me.

Do you have any boutiques you like?  Boutique shopping can be pricey.  If you find something on the Q, best to do it now so you actually have an outfit when the time comes.  Returns can take so long and exchanges.

Good luck.  The gals in the fashion section might be able to help you, but of course you already know that!

Many stores offer a better than 30 days return policy and many offer a less than 30 day return policy or no returns/refunds at all.  The problem with ordering items on-line and then returning to the store is that the store takes the hit for the return and that isn't really fair.  That is a part of why some stores are considered to have low sales.

If I order something on-line and I absolutely have to return it, I generally send it back for that reason.
