Anyone one know Dillards return policy?

A friend purchased a pair of jeans and they stretch terribly on her.  Since she has cut the tags off and worn them I am not sure sue can take them back.  She knew as soon as she had them on after an hour they would not work for her.

I told her to call and ask but thought someone on the boards may work at Dillards and have the answer, thanks.

I was going to purchase the jeans as well, they were a nice denim and they had grey...which is what I wanted....now it's a no go for me.

I just googled and it says 30 day returns and that items must be unworn, unwashed and with tags still on them.  Must have the receipt.

You can go longer than 30 days if a Dillards credit card was used or if an item is defective.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@gidgetgh   Thanks, I guess she is stuck with jeans that are difficult to wear...they were not inexpensive.

I don't like stretch in my jeans.

@Mom2Dogs - she might try calling her store and ask, in the specific department.  For me personally, I've always kind of gone on the theory that once I've cut the tags off and worn them, they're mine, unless they are defective.  And once I've paid the credit card bill, I throw the receipt away so I wouldn't even have that.

Re: Dillards return policy?

[ Edited ]

@Mom2Dogs Dillards is a strict 30 day, tags attached, with receipt policy.

I was a stylist for them for a year.

If you have no tags, they won't have the numbers to put in the register unless that item is on the floor.

In most stores, "no receipt" puts you in a place of not knowing the actual price (full or reduced) you paid so they wouldn't know the fair amount to refund if they could.

@ECBG ...I understand the need for a return policy but honestly, the jeans are to stretchy and there is no way to know that until you wear them...She has the tags, but just not attached.

I'm sorry, they stand strictly by their policy.

I keep my jeans from stretching by wearing an invisible belt which is on amazon.  Mine came in an inexpensive plastic container.  The elastic is adjustable and soft.

Jeans stay at my waist and can't move.  Life has surely been different since I found them.  Jeans fit better and look better.

@Mom2Dogs   in your OP you say she knew within an hour of putting the jeans on that they were too stretchy.  Good reason to at least try on a garment for a while at home before you toss the tags and receipts.

The way you know if jeans are "too stretchy" is by the amount of spandex in the fabric content label, at least I do.

For me, no more than 3% spandex is ideal.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

@KingstonsMom    I will have her check the label, then she can purchase knowing about the spandex.

I knew there was a certain percentage that was to much but didn't know a number, thank you
