Digestive Enzymes for Dogs

I have a new pup, around nine months, who, after many expensive Vet visits and tests, has inflamed intestines. He is on a med now, but I recently found info that putting this in the food, improves the cost and overall well being. I ordered Prozyme from Amazon, and am beginning this today. Has anyone else used digestive enzymes, and did they work?
