@Sooner I laughed when you said that you switch to a warm comforter when your weather gets cold.I live in Washington state and don't even need a heavy blanket in the winter.When we visit our son in Oklahoma I have never needed even a blanket.I have only been there during the Christmas season though.I have not been for summer because I couldn't take the heat.

To me the difference is semantics, as is what is the difference between dinner and supper. I prefer comforters because to me blankets remind me of wool, which I cannot stand against my skin.

Comforter is like the frosting on the cake. The blanket is one of the layers of cake. Notice I do it "foodie"? I'm watching ITKWD and hungry.
