Re: Diddy Sentenced

[ Edited ]

I'm just glad he got more jail time. I just can't forget the video of him in the hallway beating and kicking that woman.

I’m not here to debate whether the sentence was fair. That is up to our legal system. What happened was violent, and wrong.

But I also believe the women entered the space willingly, consented initially, took the drugs, and participated in the setup. That doesn’t erase their victimhood.

What happened to these women is a cautionary tale, not because they were to blame, but because the setup was familiar: power, drugs, blurred consent. Future victims can learn from this.

@manny2 I wish.  But I'm not sure people will learn anything from this.  We all know what that kind of life is and people flock to it willingly for money and power.  I don't think anything will stop them except maybe if society goes back to promoting ethics, working life and reality for children growing up.

And I don't see that happening.  I see people telling their kids you can be a million dollar football or basketball star, you can be Taylor Swift too!  And that's what they see, meanwhile not learning how to live in the real world, then living a broken life when fantasy fails.  Not all of course, but it happens to too many.

Sorry, it's a rant.  I don't see some poor kids being told how to get out of poverty and live a good life.  Nobody thinks a regular life is worth much now it seems sometimes.

I get really tired of hearing criminals in court apologizing for their actions.  Too little too late.

Another life/lives ruined by the insatiable need for sex by people with way too much money and an outsized amount of influence.

I can't imagine he won't be cancelled when he gets out of prison. Just the visual of him throwing around his gf and sitting in his robe surrounded by gallons of baby oil make me want to wretch. He's so gross.

I don't wish to see people harmed in prison. I hope he uses the time to evaluate how he's misused the gifts that were given him in life and vow to do better in the future.

For the charges he was found guilty of, I think the sentencing was fair. I hope he gets help to deal with his issues.

His speech said that he was sorry for the "domestic violence" That is what he and his lawyer called it. No. Not. He deserved at least 10 years for what happened in that video of what he did to Cassie at the hotel.

It's disgusting what depraved people do with their wealth.  And the "hangers on" who will do anything just to be with these sickos. I wonder how much Jennifer Lopez knows about his "hobbies".

The Judge did the right thing !

He reminded him how after he publicly apologized in a video about hurting Cassie and saying he was getting help he turned right around and drugged and punched his girlfriend Jane. He didn’t learn a thing !

Also the judge consulted with the Probation Dept and that 11 years (Prosecution wanted) was too severe a punishment and that less than 1/2 that time was more like it.

He's not going to change and if I were Cassie or any of the witnesses, I'd be getting 24/7 security in place before he gets out.

His sentence is in keeping with the Federal charges that a he had been convicted of. The judge takes everything into consideration and makes his decision based on law and sentencing guidelines.

Any domestic violence violations would be state charges. If I'm not mistaken, those victims decided that rather than bring charges they settled things out of court.
