Re: Del Monte Files For Bankruptcy

Always have a case of DM green beans in spare pantry, for nights we don't have a fresh veg for dinner. I too love them right out of can as a snack!

Re: Del Monte Files For Bankruptcy

I always though DelMonte canned goods were high quality, but lately they are high cost as well.  I keep canned veggies around to use in a pinch.  Frozen veggies get freezer burn if not used promptly.

I am fond of canned tiny green peas but the major brands have gone up in price.  I find the store brands are good and cost less.  In this hot weather I will sometimes have some green beans out of the can, drained and sprinkled with a little Italian salad dressing as a side dish.

I use Contadina tomato paste. I never noticed it was Del Monte.

Re: Del Monte Files For Bankruptcy

They are filing for bankruptcy. They have to be accepted.  Which I am sure they will. They are looking for a buyer. Someone has to manufacture canned goods, that will never go out of style. Even if they don't use cans, they use pouches, filled with same product.

I am hoping all goes well, they find a buyer, or make it through bankruptcy. It has jusr

t been a tough several years. But people will always need some kind of canned, pouched , preserved food,  travel emergency, special recipes, and as we have seen on this thread, some people prefer them, or like to use them
