I'm glad I'm old and dated under a different system. Things were much easier back then

@cherry my friends keep bugging me to try dating again but I think this thread makes my point . . . there are worse things than being "alone".

@Burnsite  This is OT, but just saying "Hi" and getting ready to watch "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" on the Comet tv channel.  One of the first posts I made on this BB was to you when we were discussing  "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" as a MST3K feature.  When I saw your post on this thread, it reminded me of our exchange.  Hoping they air it within the next three weeks.

If I don't 'see' you before the 31st, will now wish you a peaceful holiday with warm family memories, DEEP

@deepwaterdotter

Happy, healthy, peaceful holidays to you as well, DEEP.

I just checked, and am devastated to learn that COMET TV and MST3000 are not available on DirecTV in my (very uncool, uptight) area.  Sigh.  It's only shown on Comcast, which I cast into outer darkness after Hurricane Wilma in 2005.  No service and no communication for 2 months, at which point I bailed.  I don't even have a working VCR anymore, so I am cut off from even my early tapes of the film commentaries by Crow, Tom Servo, and Joel.  Their work on "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" was especially insightful.  Smiley Happy

That would settle that little fiasco.

...yet "bred," you had no problem with Smiley Very Happy Probably because you know exactly what she meant Smiley Wink

@Burnsite actually I found that I get Comet TV via the broadcast channels (I have AT&T for cable and they do not carry it and don't even get me started on Comcast as I would rather go to the library every day than be a customer of theirs) so you may want to see if they have a digital broadcast in your area.

@Burnsite  Thanks for the greetings, and for reminding me of the correct title of such a cinematic classic.  Tonight's cheesy films include "Attack of the Giant Leeches" and "Wild World of Bat Woman".  Now off to The Satellite of Love!

@momtochloe  I fear I have hijacked cherry's "Dead Beat Date's" thread.  Sorry cherry.  Always good to know there are other MSTies out there.  It is one of my favorite shows ever!

I always made it crystal clear about how the dates were going to be paid for before we went out. If that wasn't completely understood then I did not go any further.
