@dooBdoo No. What I have seen and experienced is one sided and biased. I used to think that sometimes, now I know it.

I agree, @Sooner.  It's one of the reasons I don't read or post here as often.☹️

Yet...  I'll probably always hold on to hope for better days, especially since I care so much about my fellow posting friends.

Everyone has so much to share, I've learned so much and I've been humbled by awareness of the inspirational strength and perseverance of so many of y'all...  the daunting challenges conquered, the personal victories, life's ups and downs often met with a healing blend of courage and humor... and I am in awe of that.

It's a reminder of the reason we call it "community," isn't it.

I hope you are, and everyone here is, safe and well.  Have a lovely day!❤️🌻

I'm so happy and contented that i can't find my cell phone. This happened about 10 minutes ago. Oh well, it will show up.  I feel like a fool. I was thinking about calling one of my sisters and ask her to call me so that I can find my phone when it rings. Sounds like Gracie Allen lol.

Won't look anymore. If it's hiding from me, let it keep on hiding.

I can turn this into a TV show. Well I'm in Atlanta, I can call Tyler Perry.

Today was so terrific and I enjoyed this Thread very much. Thanks everyone!!

Waiting for "Albert Hitchcock" and "The Fugitive" to come on.

I hope you've found it by now, @Sage04!  I think there's a website utility that will call your number to find an elusive cell phone. Take care.🌻

@lolakimono  I am exhausted just reading what you have to go through and it's good to get a teachers opinion.  I appreciate your post and all you do  to try to "do right" by your students.

As far as coming to the boards for some positive, I understand about the snarky remarks you mention. While it's great to get differing opinions, there are just some people who are just very dramatic ( and yes, "snarky" about what they don't like). I guess they just were not taught how to express their dislikes in a productive manner. Sometimes, they are so expressive that it actually gives me a good chuckle because the overkill borders on "hilarious". In fact, I read some of them to DH and it just cracks him up.  I suppose this won't win me many friends but it is the truth. Keep those posts coming. I enjoy them!

Haven't thought about it in years!  How funny!  And now it'll be an ear worm for the day... 🤨🙃😄

(I fear you're right about the direction, hope not though.)

@dooBdoo   Ha!  It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread.  Yes, a most pleasant ear worm.  NOT!!!

How many of us sang that song if we saw one.  LOL

@Kachina624 Awesome thread!!  I got to see some gorgeous spring flowers.  Which I have to say I do NOT have a green thumb so I do appreciate the pictures.  I live my planting life through pictures.  Trust me if you are a plant you do NOT want me buying you.  It will most likely will not be a happy, bloom filled experience.

I also got to read about why some of these forums seem "dead".  It will always be the more hot the topic, the more "alive" the response is.  It seems that sometimes the "gloves come off" and people come out swinging their mouse lol.  It would be nice to think we could all respectfully disagree, but sometimes that just doesn't seem possible.  But I do find those forums interesting,  I enjoy seeing other opinions.  Like other posters I have learned from these boards.

Just like there are those that have their favorites of the QVC crew and designers we all have our own interpretation of life events.  The problems seem to come if someone comes to get their "opinion" "feeling" or "interpretation" of some event or issue validated and they wind up feeling the need to  defend their ideas.  They weren't expecting quite the backlash they sometimes get.  Some people can handle it and others who don't really handle that kind of blunt reponse get hurt feelings.  Which most of the responders are only giving their opinion of the topic and are not attacking the poster.  But sometimes stuff gets misinterpreted as a personal attack, and then again I have seen actual personal attacks.  Like most I don't like the blantent personal attacks, but spirited reponses are interesting.   Something for everyone here!

My weekend was filled with family celebrations as this is a big birthday week for us. I actually wore some of the clothes I bought last year that just sat in the closet patiently waiting for somewhere to go. This weekend felt more “normal” and thus it was uplifting, plus I got to spend quality time with the people I love most. It was wonderful for me but not of general interest, so not something I would start a post about. Thanks @Kachina624 for starting a post where I could share.

The forums are pretty dead; it’s frustrating to work on what I hope is a thoughtful reply, hit post, and then that pink notification comes up that the page is gone. I am disappointed that so many posts get poofed, being deemed argumentative. Sometimes it feels warranted, but often it’s simply opposite points of view being expressed, which is normal in a community discussion. I’ve seldom seen universal agreement on anything. I expect that most any post will attract various points of view, civil and less than civil. But that definition has a broad bandwidth. It’s not self policing nor a majority decision, but rather in the hands of a single mod, who may at that moment be charitable or fed up...

@SunValley  Glad that you had a somewhat normal weekend as referenced in your first paragraph and I find the observations in your second paragraph to be completely on target and well stated. Thank you.

Interesting thread.

Whatever the reason is that so many are no longer posting here, it speaks to the fact that perhaps these boards aren't as relevant as they once were. There are so many places to post now on the internet where you can speak more freely about topics, it can be very frustrating here having to watch every thing you choose to post or discuss.

You make a good point and you are right, there are other places where politics and controversial topics can be freely discussed.  But we all need to remember that this is actually just a Shopping Channel Forum. Yes, QVC Forums have rules but so do many other Facebook Pages, Blogs, and Forums ....  I know a Sports Facebook Page you can't even join the group unless you agree to adhere to all their guidelines and rules..And also two other Blogs that have a similiar arrangement where all posts are monitored before posting......And Social Media has been a lot in the news lately regarding censorship....  We all just need to remember, it's QVC's Forum and their rules. I just appreciate that QVC is willing to pay the expense and personnel to keep it running....If it's too restrictive for some, as you mentioned, there's a choice of many other platforms available and some are very unfriendly, agrumentative and not fun nor informative at all....At least here yes there may be folks that arent our cup of tea, but there are also a lot of nice people to chat with too....its a choice on what one is looking for in their social media....

@Spurt, I actually was not thinking of politics as they really don't interest me all that much anymore. I was thinking more of the fun threads I used to participate on with Cherry. She seems to be gone and my friend Noel was banned. Moonchilde was another favorite who I used to converse with regarding diabetes. If I reply now to anyone about it, usually they never even come back to acknowledge what they started as their thread. You explain something and there is no response.

I have been here for coming up on 13 years, so I am well aware these forums are owned by QVC. Just the OP asked about the dead boards and I was giving my answer up for consideration. In fact, I may have burn-out from reading some of the unkindness I have read here in the past few months. Reason, I don't post as often too.
