Comments about DV are all speculation, at this point. But, I get that some viewers are seeing a different side of David.

IMHO, I don't think it's due to boredom, but his affect does not reflect previously seen joy and spontaneity. I'm reading more of a sense of detachment, or distraction.

Being a popular top host, he likely has more knowledge of the state of operations, than most.  It's hard to stay upbeat, when your comfort zone is threatened. It can lead to bad burnout, if there's no clear remedy.

As I've said before, I won't miss him when he's gone.  And I'm not sure I'd miss any host if they decide to retire, leave, or get laid off.  At this point, I don't care. Cat Indifferent

I think ANYONE can be forced to retire or be let go.

I am sure David makes alot of money and has good benefits...which costs the Company  quite a bit....

I think he deserves all of them though....

I think nothing of it.  My parents had a place in NJ. My SIL has a place in NJ. My BIL has a place in DE as does my brother.  My sister has her place in FL.  My husband and I are more modest spenders.  Our summer place in here in PA.

Most of our friends have second places too. Some have houses, some condos and others mobile homes.

I don't read anything into David having a condo in Florida.

So he's off to his condo in FL yet again.  I know that he said he's not leaving qvc, but since the q "merged" with hsn, could he possibly be thinking of switching to hsn?  Just a thought.  I know he loves the warm weather.

David actually said he wasn't leaving qvc?  When?

He's my favorite male host--as in, I watch him--even if I'm not interested in purchasing.  It was the same with Carolyn.

That said, is he a chef?  I thought he just did cooking shows, but not a chef.  Do you have to be a chef to do a cookbook?  (Because I could do a cookbook, but I'm not a chef!)

I'd hate to see him go to hsn.  I just can't get into hsn.  It's such a different atmosphere.  Can't explain it, but the sets, the lighting and even the products are so starkly different to me.  Haven't watched hsn for over 20 years (used to watch the pajama parties with Suzanne and Colleen).  Now it's just blah....

I'm sure he pulls in some serious money at qvc.  I've seen earnings posted over the years of hosts, don't know how reliable the sources were, but the money was sweet.

I once saw him crossing over the *forgotten mile* right before you come into Dewey from Rehoboth.  He was headed to Dewey on foot with a bunch of people.

David seems bored with the cooking and food presentations. It's a daily job which consists of endless naming of appliance and cookware colors. He's been doing some other types of presentations lately. I think he went to management and asked for a little change now and again. I'm seeing other hosts in the kitchen more and more. I don't think he's leaving.

@sunshine45   My brother has a place there as does his SIL.  Yes, he has been spotted.  He probably has friends who have a place there and he stays with them.

I think David is burned out and, yes, bored.  He does get the same old products over and over and the constant telling of colors and how many are left.  Not only in the kitchen items, but in any product.

I don't see the enthusiasm in him like in years gone by.  I think he needs a complete change for himself. To focus on his life and where it's going.  I kinda feel sorry for him.  I think he has plenty of money, but that's not the only thing in life.
