Here is a news story about them. He is very low key and appears to be a great Dad.

Thanks for providing that link! I enjoyed reading the article and watching the video. I like how he's sharing memories of her mother with her and displaying pictures of them together. He could, if he wanted, not have any reminder of her in his home. It's obvious he cared for Anna deeply. I wonder if her life would have been different if she had stayed with him and stayed away from drugs. But she was always after the fame, and I don't think a life with him was in the picture.

I agree with you both, I think Larry is a wonderful father to Dannielynn. He seemed to love Anna very much, but she was on a self-destructive path. If Larry didn't care about his daughter he would never have fought so hard to get custody. It appears she has a pretty normal life, which is wonderful considering how Anna was always chased by paparazzi and in the spotlight. I didn't realize Larry is from Louisville, Kentucky, so I am sure the Derby is special Daddy-Daughter time for him. I know she has done some professional modeling like the GUESS Kids spring campaign last year, but it seems he is trying to keep her childhood fairly grounded. She is a beautiful little girl, definitely looks like him, but you can see Anna in her too. I wish them all the happiness, and hopefully as she grows and blossoms into a gorgeous young woman, he will be able to keep her grounded and sensible.

The exact image of her father; just look at those lovely eyes. Nobody can deny she is indeed his daughter. I'm glad this lovely child is having a normal life.

He won't do it while she's a child because there would be too much backlash. He's already living off Anna's money and taken over her california home. So he's really not the dumb rube he portrays.

Oh please, Anna Nichole Smith used all kinds of people on her climb up the ladder. You don't really think that she married the old dude for love, do you? She also tried to keep her child's father from his own child, lied as to who the father was, tried to live off another wealthy man in his property without paying, and tried to pass off Howard Stern as something he wasn't. Larry Burkhead wanted his child from the very beginning, way before Anna died. He knew she was his from conception on. He has proven to be a devoted father and responsible man. He is 100 times the human being that Anna ever was or hoped to be.

As a grandmother with 3 girls under 9, I can say they do not need an excuse to dress up in character.

In Kentucky I am betting many little girls would love to dress up for the Derby.

That really is the case. I think a lot of people may not really understand the Derby fever that hits the town. Many day cares in the area have a costume day on Oaks Day (Friday before the Derby) where little girls can dress up and boys might dress up as jockeys...it is anything they want it to be and fun for the kiddos.

I don't know about hauled off to the Kentucky Derby...that is an assumption that he took her to the Derby and I am not sure he did. This picture posted above is taken at the YUM Center which hosts a family friendly Derby Eve party. He may very well have taken her to the Derby, but the picture posted is not taken at Churchill Downs. As I said, it is at a Derby Eve event.
