Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Greetings to you, my friends in Jesus! Here's hoping that today was filled with many blessings to bring you all joy in your hearts! Today's blessings - Linus and his brothers made deer sausage together - this time in patties, and we have a lot! Lots of blessings! Also another great blessing today was a text message that we don't have to go next week Wednesday, the 19th to see Darla - as she's renting a car and will come here and even stay here overnight for her interview is the next day in Mpls. Keep praying it all goes well and that she isn't in so much pain again!!

Unhappiness within comes out in an emotional reaction, unlike the happy

person

who is slow to anger. Lord, help me to glow in Your presence so that the

heat of

the moment doesn't get to me.

Scripture for the day:

"Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; give me an

undivided heart to revere your name." ~Psalm 86:11

Meditation for the day:

I believe that life is a school in which I can learn spiritual things.

I can trust in God and God will teach me. I can listen to God and God can

speak through my mind. I can commune with God in spite of all opposition

and every obstacle. There will be days when I will hear no voice in my mind

and when there will come no intimate heart-to-heart communion. But if I

persist, and make a life habit of schooling myself in spiritual things, God

can be revealed to me in many ways.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may regularly go to school in things of the spirit. I pray

that I may grow spiritually, by making a practice of all these things.

DON'T GIVE UP

Jan 16 2009

One day I decided to quit...

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. .. I wanted to quit

my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care

of them.

I gave them light.

I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor.

Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the

bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on

the bamboo.

He said.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.

But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would

not quit."

He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared

to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. ...But just 6

months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong

and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my

creations a challenge it could not handle."

He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been

struggling, you have actually been growing roots".

"I would not quit on the bamboo.

I will never quit on you."

"Don't compare yourself to others."

He said.

"The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.

Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me.

"You will rise high"

"How high should I rise?"

I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned.

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and brought back this story.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on

you.

Never, Never, Never Give up.

For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.

Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is, tell the problem how Great

the Lord is!

And some Mother Teresa quotes:

In Christ, who died on the cross for us, we can definitely confirm the fact

that suffering can transform itself into a great love and an extraordinary

generosity.

+++

To love and to serve the poor presupposes something that has nothing to do

with giving them our leftovers, or giving them the food we do nor like. It

has nothing to do with giving them the clothes we no longer wear just

because the clothes are no longer in fashion or because we no longer like

them.

Is this sharing the poverty of the poor? Of course it is not.

+++

There are thousands-millions-of people who die for lack of bread.

There are thousands-millions-of human beings who grow weak for lack of a

little love because they would like to be recognized, even if just a little.

Jesus becomes weak and dies in them.

+++

Once more, today and yesterday, Jesus comes to his own and his own refuse to

welcome him (John 1:11).

He comes in the broken bodies of the poor.

He also comes in the rich who are drowning in the loneliness of their own

riches. He also comes in their lonely hearts, when there is no one to offer

them love.

+++

What we say does nor matter, only what God says to souls through us.

+++

Good works are links that form a chain of love.

HUGS

No moving parts, no batteries.

No monthly payments and no fees;

Inflation proof, non-taxable,

In fact, it's quite relaxable;

It can't be stolen, won't pollute,

One size fits all, do not dilute.

It uses little energy,

But yields results enormously.

Relieves your tension and your stress,

Invigorate your happiness;

Combats depression, makes you beam,

And elevates your self esteem!

Your circulation it corrects

Without unpleasant side effects

It is, I think, the perfect drug:

May I prescribe, my friend,... the hug!

(and, of course, fully returnable!)

Nails meant For Me

The nail was driven through His hand,

Oh the pain that was unjustly dealt.

But much worse was the agony,

Of mankind's sin He felt.

The crown of thorns that tore into His scalp,

Was a punctuation to mankind's rejection.

The world denied the King of kings,

A man who attained perfection.

In a moment all was finished,

Christ's work was done,

He had accomplished the Father's will,

That he chose for His only begotten Son.

The nails of pain, He took for our sins,

They were nails meant for me,

But thanks to God's Grace,

The nails of death I will never see.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Felicia - Praying for you - I don't know what that is, but you're in my prayers. So sorry you got so sick with those gallstones.

Harlene - Counting our blessings galore!!! They are many!

Serenity - Just have to tell you that Linus is back now from his doctor - the Effixor (anti-depressant) is out of his body now completely - praise the Lord! and he's feeling better and the 200 mg. of Zen he can up one more tablet if he feels edgey, it's not a drug - and we both should be taking Vit. D - which should help with tiredness. He is free of drugs now completely and we thank the Lord for this great blessing. I think, too, that it was not so bad quitting Effixor cold turkey because he was on the lowest dosage on it and he had the Zen to help.

Please pray that our daughter, Darla can be healed of her severe back pain - and that whatever is blocking her healing may be removed. Thanks all!
