Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Just got home from a long day at work for Lori. She took me out to lunch, that was great! She's picking me up again at nine in the morning. I work just the morning tomorrow. My blessings today was being with Lori - Linus doing housework and making suppers for us and tomorrow lunch - yes, that's a blessing to be sure! Today he cleaned the stove behind and the sides etc. and that really needed to be done! It's nice he's not working at Northern Tools anymore. He's taking off work now with Lighthouse until after Christmas. Priests are too busy now to have appointments etc. for Lighthouse at this time of year. Praying for all of your requests and needs.

We are each a huge container of talents and abilities many of which

we have not yet discovered and recognized. Lord, increase my ability

to believe in myself and let the wonderful me burst out.

Scripture for the day:

"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God

in Christ Jesus." ~Philippians 3:14

Meditation for the day:

"One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and

reaching forth unto those things that are before, I press onward

toward the goal." We can forget those things which are behind us and

press onward toward something better. We can believe that God has

forgiven us for all our past sins. We can honestly try to live today

the way we believe God wants us to live. We can wipe clean the slate

of the past. We can start today with a clean slate and go forward

with confidence toward the

goal that has been set before us.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may drop off the load of the past. I pray that I may

start today with a light heart and a new confidence.

ALWAYS THERE

Hello God, I called tonight

To talk a little while..

I need a friend who'll listen

To my anxiety and trial...

You see, I can't quite make it

Through a day just on my own...

I need your love to guide me,

So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep,

My family safe and sound.

Come and fill their lives with confidence

For whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face

Each hour throughout the day,

And not to worry over things

I can't change in any way.

I thank you God, for being home

And listening to my call,

For giving me such good advice

When I stumble and fall.

Your number, God, is the only one

That answers every time.

I never get a busy signal,

Never had to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening

To my troubles and my sorrow.

Good night, God, I love You, too,

And I'll call again tomorrow!

HOW TO RECEIVE BLESSINGS IN A FAMILY

Entrust all your problems to Jesus. He will save your family. Offer all the

problems to Jesus and ask him to interact in your life.

Differences between husband and wife, the lack of love, being without

children, waywardness of children, bad habits of children, members of family

and spouse, alcoholism, debts, joblessness, homelessness, envy and enmity of

the neighbors, hindrances to marriage, lack of prayer, divorce, lack of

mutual respect, squandering, serious diseases, obstacles in all matters and

so on - must be surrendered to Jesus. Invite Jesus into your life and family

problems. The one who solved the problems of many a thousand will surely

solve yours too.

REMEDIES

Accept your life partner as a God-given gift. (Tobit6: 17).

Take decision only through mutual consultation and sharing.

Appreciate and encourage your life partner. Do not give much correction.

Instead, pray for change. The more you give correction, the more the person

will be corrupted.

Love your wife as yourself. (Eph.5: 28/Col.3: 19). Respect your husband.

(Eph.5: 24/ Eph.5: 21)

Unconditional forgiveness and unlimited prayers will solve all your family

problems. "Try to forgive seventy times seven" (Matt.18: 21), i.e.,

unlimitedly.

Have family prayer everyday. "The family that prays together stays

together." Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet with special intentions before

every decade are good family prayers.

Share your burdens and housework with each other. Carrying the burdens each

other and fulfill the law of the Lord (Gal.6:2).

Do not neglect the needs of the family members. (1Timothy5:8).

Do not deny the conjugal right of the life partner even though you do not

want it. (1Cor.7: 4).

PRAYER TO RECEIVE BLESSINGS IN A FAMILY

Jesus, do a miracle in our family as you had done a miracle at Cana to save

a marriage. Without a miracle, our marriage will not be saved; will not be

blessed. So, Lord, we surrender all our family problems to you, come and

heal us. O Jesus send your Holy Spirit upon our household and transform us

into your likeness and image that we lost by committing sin. Help us Lord,

to forgive each other unconditionally. Help us to pray together, to glorify

your holy name in your family.

(After this do Divine Mercy Chaplet)

Using God's Gifts

Many people are puzzled by the words of Luke 19:26, where the king is

settling accounts with his servants who had been given money to invest.

After he has told the parable, Jesus sums up by saying: "To everyone who

has, more will be given. And from him who has not, even that which he has

will be taken away."

Look at it this way: if a man plays a game and goes on practicing at it, he

will keep getting better. The good talent he has will increase. He had; and

he gets more.

On the other hand, the fellow who does not practice loses whatever ability

he started out with. In other words, what he had is taken away from him.

If we discipline and train our bodies, they grow fit and strong. If we take

it easy, they grow flabby and lose the strength they had. There is no such

thing as standing still in Christian life. We either get more, or we lose

what we have. We either advance or we slip back.

I KNOW

I know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end.

I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy.

I know He has forgiven me, so why can't I forgive myself.

I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness.

I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can't.

I know He will protect me, so why do I fear.

I know He will supply all my needs, so why can't I wait.

I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak.

I know that everything and everyone has a season,

so why when someone's season is over do I weep instead of rejoice.

I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way.

I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness.

I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me,

so why am I scared to ask.

I know tomorrow is not promised,

so why do I put off for tomorrow what I can do today.

I know that the truth shall make me free, so why do I continue to lie.

I know He gives us revelation knowledge and understanding,

so why do I lean on my own understanding.

I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk in the spirit,

so why do I choose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh.

I know that when praises go up blessings come down,

so why do I refuse to praise Him.

I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me.

I know He has a plan for me,

so why am I rushing it because I am eager to do His will,

when it is His time not my time.

It Takes Courage To Be A Christian!

It takes courage to refrain from gossip when others delight in it, to stand

up for the absent person who is being abused.

It takes courage to live honestly within your means, and not dishonestly on

the means of others.

It takes courage to be a REAL man, a TRUE woman, to hold fast to your ideals

when it causes you to be looked upon as strange and peculiar.

It takes courage to be talked about, and remain silent, when a word would

justify you in the eyes of others, but which you dare not speak because it

would injure another.

It takes courage to refuse to do something that is wrong although everyone

else may be doing it with attitudes as carefree as a summer song.

It takes courage to live according to your own convictions, to deny yourself

what you cannot afford to love your neighbor as yourself, to follow the

example of our risen Lord!
