Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Nice, cool, sun shiny day again today - it sure cooled down though. I have the in-floor heat on, but I left the patio door opened last night so the plants wouldn't freeze, being it got down to the 20's last night and all week, so this morning, the house was down to 62 degrees, so I closed the door there for the day while the sun shines in there and keeps it warm, and now the house is back to normal again, until tomorrow morning. I just didn't think it would pay to bring all the plants back in again when soon we'll have the warm weather to stay. Talked to Linus about this and I'm doing what he suggested. The plants like the cooler temps anyway, they like it at 40 degrees I heard. They are loving it out there! My blessings today - talking to Linus on the phone, also Lori, and she'll take me shopping tomorrow for new glasses. She sure seems to like Jeremy a lot, and it's mutual. Yesterday they went driving around and she showed him our hometown and house where she grew up in, and he showed her his grandparents house where he stayed here in our town. Jeremy's grandmother just buried her husband last week and now she is in the hospital with terrible coughing etc. and she means the world to him, please pray for her. Also, when you read this thread, go over to the prayer request thread and pray for those who need our prayers. I'm surprised and happy that the Q lets us have that one.

Keep your heart clean by constant spring cleaning. Then there will be a place
for beauty and peace. Lord, help me to remove carelessness and disrespect from
my heart and in all things may I celebrate Your love for me.

"Those sown among the thorns: these are the ones who hear the word, but the
cares of the world, and the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things
come in and choke the word, and it yields nothing. And these are the ones
sown on the good soil: they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit,
thirty and sixty and a hundredfold." ~Mark 4:18-20

If I have a singleness of purpose, I can do my part in God's work. I need
not let material distractions interfere with my job of improving personal
relationships. It is easy for me to become distracted by material affairs,
so that I lose my singleness of purpose. I don't have time to be concerned
about the many concerns of the world. I can concentrate and specialize on
what I can do best.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may not become distracted by material affairs. I pray that I
may concentrate on doing what I can do best.
A Prayer for Lent

Dear Lord, I thank You for all the favors You have bestowed upon me. Help me always to praise and thank You in both the good times and the bad, to offer every part of my life to You, even the sad and sorrowful parts. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for having created me ... for all the joys of life and for all the sorrows ... for the home You gave me, and for all the love that surrounded me in the home ... for the friends I have made through life. You have dealt very generously and very tenderly with me; I cannot hope to thank You as I ought, but, with Your help, my future life will be one long thanksgiving. I beg Your sweet Mother Mary to thank You for me out of her heart of hearts for all Your gifts of love to me.

The Smallest Piece

A fourteenth-century Italian stained-glass artist was summoned to design and create a huge portrait for the window of a cathedral in Chartres France, a place well known for its stained-glass work.

He laid all of the pieces he was going to use out on the floor of the cathedral. They were beautiful to behold; most of them were large and colorful. Some of the colors from that time cannot even be reproduced today. Among these awesome pieces of glass was a small, clear piece about as big as your fingernail. As the stained-glass portrait was assembled, that little piece remained on the floor. Only the big colorful pieces of glass were used.

On the day of the window's completion, the tiny piece of clear glass was still lying on the ground. The entire city gathered to witness the unveiling of the brilliant and beautiful stained-glass portrait. The artist stood in front of the crowd, made his speech, and dramatically pulled down the cloth cover. The crowd gasped at the beauty of the colorful window glowing in the sunlight. After a few seconds, however, the crowd grew silent. They sensed that something was missing, that the portrait was unfinished.

The great artist then walked over to where the little clear piece of glass lay, picked it up, and placed it in the portrait, right in the center of Jesus' eye. As the sun hit that little piece, it gave off a dazzling sparkle.

The magnificent stained glass window still draws visitors. The first thing they see is that sparkle in Jesus' eye.

Do you ever feel like that little piece of clear glass? You doubt you can ever do anything for God. Let the story of that last little piece remind you that God thinks of you as the apple of his eye.

"WHOEVER GUARDS HIS MOUTH AND TONGUE KEEPS HIS SOUL FROM TROUBLES" (Prov 21:23).
"BE STILL, AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD" (Ps 46:10)
Mother Teresa Said...

Trust in the good God who loves us, who cares for us, who sees all, knows all, can do all things for my good and the good of souls. One thing Jesus asks of me: that I lean upon Him; that in Him alone I put complete trust; that I surrender myself to Him unreservedly. Love Jesus with a big heart.
Serve Jesus with joy and gladness of spirit, casting aside and forgetting all that troubles and worries you.

Jesus Calling

March 17

Come to me for understanding, since I know you far better than you know yourself. I comprehend you in all your complexity; no detail of your life is hidden from Me. I view you through eyes of grace, so don’t be afraid of My intimate awareness. Allow the Light of My healing Presence to shine into the deepest recesses of your being—cleansing, healing, refreshing, and renewing you. Trust Me enough to accept the full forgiveness that I offer you continually. This great gift, which cost Me My Life, is yours for all eternity. Forgiveness is at the very core of My abiding Presence. I will never leave you or forsake you.

When no one else seems to understand you, simply draw closer to Me. Rejoice in the One who understands you completely and loves you perfectly. As I fill you with My Love, you become a reservoir of love, overflowing into the lives of other people.

O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
—Psalm 139:1–4

Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
—2 Corinthians 1:21–22

No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
—Joshua 1:5

Good Morning, Yesterday was beautiful here after some rain in the morning. I got a lot of spring cleaning accomplished, and hope to do more today. It does help if I'm anxious, all the activity works off some nerves. Added benefit, the house looks really good when I'm done. Hope everyone has a good day! pinky

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Julie, so glad your back is better. God is so good. Praise God!

I made it back from the eye Dr. My Christian friend took me. I have to go back in five weeks. She gave me a shot in the left eye and there may be fluid around the right eye which is my good eye. I use that eye to drive. I pray I keep my vision I have.

Blessings to all here. It is cool today and can you believe in two days it will be Spring and it is forecasted to rain and snow. Winter is going out like a lion here in Ohio. It will warm up and I will praise God for it. Have a good day and evening. Gloria, I know you're missing Linus.

Highlighted
