Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello everyone! Hope your day is going well. It is for me - although it's a rainy day, but we do need it, and the rest of the week should be sunny and the temps up to 70 plus degrees! Now that's more like it!! Now it's fun to watch the garden grow. First we'll get our lettuce - can hardly wait - it always tastes better than boughten. Even in the rain, our Oriels still come to the feeder. It has a roof on it, maybe doesn't get too much rain in. It's a pretty orange. It's surprising to see other birds, too, like the grape jelly. Still waiting for the cardinals to come - I hear them sing, but haven't seen any lately and I miss them. Blue jays are here, lots of robins and lots of finches. Love those yellow finches! Today is just an ordinary day full of God's wonderful blessings for each of us. Thanks for all your prayers for Darla's job, they were answered in the way God wanted and knew what was right for her. Now we're praying for the healing of her back - when she comes home, she plans on getting a couple injections, now that isn't so good, right? steriod shots for pain. So I'm praying and praying for her healing, and on June 2nd Lori will find out how her eye is doing.

Do what is right and good in the eyes of the Lord and receive

the fullness of His blessings. Lord, I thank You for the gifts that

I have received and ask forgiveness for all that I have done wrong.

Scripture for the day:

"Whoever was called in the Lord as a slave is a freed person belonging to

the Lord, just as whoever was free when called is a slave of Christ. You

were bought with a price; do not become slaves of human masters. In

whatever condition you were called, brothers and sisters, there remain with

God." ~1 Corinthians 7:22-24

Meditation for the day:

Cooperation with God is the great necessity for our lives. All else then

can follow naturally. Cooperation with God is the result of our

consciousness of God's presence. Guidance is bound to come to us as we live

more and more with God. We can have many quiet times when we not so much

ask to be shown and led by God, as to feel and realize God's presence. New

spiritual growth and life comes naturally when we cooperate with God.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that God may supply me with strength and show me the direction in

which God wants me to grow. I pray that these things may come naturally

from my cooperation with God.

Here's a Franciscan Morning Prayer:

Jesus Lord, I offer you this new day because I believe in you,

love you, hope all things in you and thank you for your blessings.

I am sorry for having offended you and forgive everyone who has offended me.

Lord, look on me and leave in me peace and courage

and your humble wisdom that I may serve others with joy,

and be pleasing to you all day. Amen.

ACCEPTANCE OF GOD'S WILL

In all things may the most holy, the most just, and

the most lovable will of God be done, praised and

exalted above all for ever. Your will be done, O Lord,

your will be done. The Lord has given, the Lord has

taken away,, blessed be the name of the Lord.

SOMETIMES GOD WHISPERS

by Jeanette Hays

An old preacher spoke something in reply to a question from a young man,

something so hushed it was indistinguishable. The young man stepped across

the room. "What did you say?" he asked. The preacher repeated himself, but

again in a tone as soft as a whisper. So the young man moved closer until he

was leaning on the preacher's chair.

"Sorry," he said. "I still didn't hear you." With their heads bent together,

the old preacher spoke once more. "God sometimes whispers," he said, "so we

will move closer to hear him."

We all want God's voice to thunder through the air with the answer to our

problem. But God's is the still, small voice ... the gentle whisper.

Perhaps there's a reason.

Nothing draws human focus quite like a whisper.

God's whisper means I must stop my ranting and move close to Him, until my

head is bent together with His. And then, as I listen, I will find my

answer.

Better still, I find myself closer to God.

And there is no better place to be.

DOWN ON MY KNEES

I can see best when I'm down on my knees,

When I'm listening to Jesus, when He's speaking to me.

On my knees I see clearer than I do from above,

When I'm meeting with Jesus, I see through His love.

It's hard to be haughty when kneeling in prayer,

For my vision is cleared when I meet with Him there.

It's hard to judge others while petitioning Him,

While seeking forgiveness for my failures and sins.

My perception is best when I kneel before Him

And He opens my eyes to His love once again.

Though to some it seems foolish, it is wisdom to me ---

When I want to see best, I get down on my knees.

"Excuse me, Sir."

"Is that you again, Moses?"

"I'm afraid it is, Sir."

"What is it this time, Moses. More computer problems?"

"How did you guess?"

"I don't have to guess, Moses. Remember?"

"Oh, yeah. I forgot."

"Tell me what you want, Moses."

"But you already know. Remember?"

"Moses!"

"Sorry, Sir."

"Well, go ahead, Moses. Spit it out."

"Well, I have a question, Sir. You know those 'ten things' you sent me?"

"You mean the Commandments, Moses?"

"That's it. I was wondering if they were important."

"What do you mean 'were important,' Moses? Of course, they're important.

Otherwise I wouldn't have sent them to you."

"Well, sorry, but I lost them. I could say the dog ate them, but of course

you would see right through that."

"What do you mean 'you lost them'? Are you trying to tell me you didn't save

them, Moses?"

"No, sir. I forgot."

"You should always save, Moses."

"Yeah, I know. You told me that before. I was going to, but I forgot. I did

send them to some people before I lost them though."

"And did you hear back from any of them?"

"You already know I did. What about the one guy who said he never uses

'shalt not'? Can he change the words a little bit?"

"Yes, Moses. As long as he doesn't change the meaning."

"And what about the guy who thought your stance was a little harsh, and

recommended calling them the 'Ten Suggestions,' or letting people pick one

or two to try for a while?"

"Moses, I'll act like I didn't hear that."

"I think that means 'no.' Well, what about the guy who said I was scamming

him?"

"I think the term is 'spamming,' Moses."

"Oh, yeah. I E-mailed him back and told him I don't even eat that stuff, and

I have no idea how you can send it to someone through a computer."

"And what he did say?"

"You know what he said. He used Your name in vain. You don't think he might

have sent me one of those -- er -- plagues, and that's the reason I lost

those ten things, do you?"

"They're called 'viruses,' Moses."

"Whatever! This computer stuff is just too much for me. Can we just go back

to those stone tablets? It was hard on my back taking them out and reading

them each day, but at least I never lost them."

"We'll do it the new way, Moses."

"I was afraid you would say that, Sir."

"Moses, what did I tell you to do if you messed up?"

"You told me to hold up this rat and stretch it out toward the computer."

"It's a mouse, Moses. Mouse! Mouse! And did you do that?"

"No, I decided to try the technical support first. After all, who knows more

about this stuff than you, and I really like your hours. By the way, Sir,

did Noah have two of these mice on the ark?"

"No, Moses."

"One other thing. Why didn't you name them 'frogs' instead of 'mice,'

because didn't you tell me the thing they sit on is a pad?"

"I didn't name them, Moses. Man did, and you can call yours a frog if you

want to."

"Oh, that explains it. Kind of like Adam, huh, sir? I bet some woman told

him to call it a mouse. After all, wasn't it a woman who named one of the

computers Apple?"

"Say good night, Moses."

"Wait a minute, sir. I am stretching out the mouse, and it seems to be

working. Yes, a couple of the 'ten things' have come back."

"Which ones are they, Moses?"

"Let's see. 'Thou shalt not steal from any grave an image' and 'Thou shalt

not uncover thy neighbor's wife.'"

"Turn the computer off, Moses. I'm sending you another set of stone

tablets."

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Gloria, God does hear our prayers and only in time will his master plan be revealed to us. I predict that Darla will eventually get back closer to you and will have a wonderful job near you. I know it is what she wants and what you want as well. It will happen in good time.

My prayers for all our dear friends here. My precious grand baby is progressing well. He does not appear to be blind despite his diagnosis. He is happy and healthy and loved so much. Genetic testing that will determine the cause of his blindness is still being done. They have ruled out some of the causes the doctors originally thought was the problem. So we are just waiting and watching despite the fact we do not have any definitive answers. I guess we, too have to wait on God to reveal to us what is wrong and how we can best deal with it.

A strong faith can do so much to help us over the rough patches and during those times we may feel frustrated and at a loss as to what to do. But we do have faith and we learn to wait and our answers will come in time.

I love you all and I love your kind words and best wishes. It means so much to me. I feel having all of you as prayer warriors has helped my grandson with his vision. Please keep praying for his sight. This world is so beautiful he must see it all!

Gloria, I will be spending the weekend holiday a few miles from you. I am hoping for cool weather. Love and hugs to you all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Gloria, when I was reading the posts about Metro wanting to talk to Darla's employers and the people she works with. I remember quit a few years ago that they made a law saying you couldn't do this and that you couldn't even call the persons employers to get a referral from them. As far as I understood it was against the law.

Lori is still in my prayers for her eyes.

Serrenity and gotogirl, you are still in my prayers.

Counting my Blessings.

Gloriajean: I'm sorry Darla's back is not better.

Harlene: You are right - they had no business calling Darla's co-workers. Very unprofessional.

{{{go2girl}}} So good to see you - you have been in my thoughts constantly. It seems very hopeful about your beloved grandson - thank you for updating us. All sounds hopeful. Miracles do happen. We love you, too.

Hope everyone has a nice day - I'm off to the market in a bit.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Good afternoon!

It is such a beautiful day. I've been out and about doing errands and now I'm contemplating doing some yard work. It's hot outside and the sun is now in the area that I want to work. I may have to put it off until the morning when the shade is in that spot, will be cooler, too. Sitting in a cool house sounds better! lol

My prayers are with each of you and I ask the Lord to bless you with his mercy. God is with us every step of the way. He knows our troubles and worries, wants and needs. His answer will come when the time is right. Have faith and keep believing.

I guess I'll get get busy doing something...or... pretend to! lol

Peace and blessings.

Be still, and know.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

go2girl - what a nice post! Thanks for keeping us updated on your precious grandson and glad he's progressing. More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of! Prayers continue for his complete healing. June 2nd Lori will find out how her right eye is doing, hoping it will get completely healed too!!! We love you too, friend!!

Yes, Harlene, Darla knows it's unethical to do that. They were cruel and not going by rules. They didn't deserve her and they won''t get her. Now because of they're jerking around, they have to find someone else. Maybe they learned a lesson? Who knows?

Cakers - we keep praying for her back to heal so she won't need injections. When she was here, Lori always gave her good massages that helped her!

Lucy - such a beautiful day here today too!!! Not as hot as you have, but nice and sunny and in the 70's - perfect!!!

shorelady - Thanks for coming - special prayers for tomorrow - hope it's all in your favor and your husband can be helped. Thanks much for your prayers for us.
