Hello my friends! Hope you all had a good day today and can count your many blessings! Tonight it was a blessing when Lori called us to have supper with her, and we did, she had a wonderful supper prepared! That followed by a game of Mexican Train in Dominoes. Tonight I'm sure that Darla is back in Florida again for another interview tomorrow at Tampa. She did say that if she got this job it would enhance her career, but it's so far away from us!!! It's another day further away than Texas! Still praying for St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, if that be God's Will for her - He knows what's best for her. Please pray for her safety and free from all aches and pains with her back problem. I don't think this time Greg is able to go along with her. Let us all keep each other in prayer, and all who read and post here. God grant you many blessings!!
When your burden seems heavier than usual, know that your blessings
are more than usual. Lord, I call on you for the strength, the wisdom
and the confidence that I will need today.
Scripture for the day:
"When they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried
out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to
them and said, 'Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.'" ~Mark 6:49-50
Meditation for the day:
I can take the most crowded day without fear. I believe that God is with me
and controlling all. I can let confidence be the motif running through all
the crowded day. I need not be worried, because I know that God is my
helper. Underneath are the everlasting arms of God. I can rest in them,
even though the day be full of things crowding in upon me.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be calm and let nothing upset me. I pray that I may not
let material things control me and choke out spiritual things.
The Beautiful Color of LOVE
What color is God,
Asked the child with skin so fair
Is he white like me,
Does he have light hair?
Is God dark like me,
Asked the child with skin of golden hue,
Has he hair that's dark and curly,
Are his eyes black or blue?
I think God is red like me,
The Indian boy is heard to say --
He wears a crown of feathers,
And turns our nights to day
Each one of us knows that God is there
In ALL the colors above
But be sure of this, the one color he is,
Is the beautiful color of love
So when your soul goes to Heaven,
When your life comes to its end --
He will be waiting, and his hand to you
Will he extend.
There will be no colors in Heaven,
Everyone will be the same.
You will only be judged by your earthly deeds,
Not your color or your name
So when your time comes,
And you see God in his Heaven above,
Then you will see the only color that counts,
The beautiful color of LOVE.
THE CRUCIBLE OF SUFFERING
Author Unknown
I will not leave you comfortless. . John 14:18
Nowhere has God promised anyone, even His children, immunity
from sorrow, suffering and pain. This world is a "vale of
tears," and disappointment and heartache are as inevitable as clouds
and shadows. Suffering is often the crucible in which our faith is
tested. Those who successfully come through the "furnace of
affliction" are the ones who emerge "like gold tried in the
fire."
The Bible teaches unmistakably that we can triumph over
bereavement. The psalmist said: "Weeping may endure for the night,
but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).
Self Pity can bring no enduring comfort. The fact is, it
will only add to our misery. And unremitting grief will give us
little consolation in itself, for grief begets grief. Ceaseless grieving
will only magnify our sorrow. We should not peddle our sorrows and bewail
our bad fortune - that will only depress others. Sorrow, or
mourning, when it is borne in a Christian way, contains a built in
comfort. "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be
comforted" (Matthew 5:4).
There is comfort in mourning because we know that Christ is
with us. He has said: "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end
of the world" (Matthew 28:20). Suffering is endurable if we do not
have to bear it alone; and the more compassionate the Presence, the
less acute the pain.
Your Work Today
Is anyone happier because you passed this way?
Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that is slipping fast,
That you helped a single person of the many that you passed ?
Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said?
Does the man whose hopes were fading, now in courage look ahead?
Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think that God will say,
You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today.

Meditations by Padre Pio
When you find yourself close to God in prayer, speak to Him if you can, and
if you unable to do so stay this way. Let yourself be seen, and do not
disturb yourself further.
Mother Teresa Said...
It takes humility to recognize the greatness of God shining through us.
Boasting of our greatness before men is pride. Great humility arises when we
recognize that it is God's kindness and His greatness that shows through our
hands, our work, and our love because that is the simple truth.
Jesus is the Truth that must be shared.

I love this quote from her. It brought tears to my eyes.
God is good .... all the time. I don't know what I would do without Him.

Gloria, I got good news on my Colonoscopy, everything is fine. I had a lot of problems to get the thing done though. Because of the Ice storm we had the place I was supposed to get it at had no power and I had to go somewhere else, it was really terrible trying to get to these places, there were a lot of trees down and the traffic lights were not working, it's a long story, so I'll spare you.
Bobbiesue, please, please don't give up. I will be praying hard that they straighten out your meds.
Lucy, as always I'm praying hard for you and your family.
Counting my Blessings.

Hello everyone,
Heaven's delights will far outweigh earth's difficulties.
Another cold day here, just as it is in most of our country. I heard this morning that 68 percent of our country has snow. Here it's trying to sputter some flurries. I hope everyone will be safe and warm this weekend when the next storm comes.
Gloriajean, prayers for Darla, and Greg, and you and the rest of your family.
Rondell, thank you for sharing another great piece from Mother Teresa. It is one that I have not read. Have a great day, and like you I don't know what I would do if I didn't know, Jesus as my Savior.
Harlene, so sorry for all the difficulty you had yesterday, but so thankful that everything turned out good. I'm praying that for those who lost power will have it restored, before the next storm comes in. I understand PA was hit hard with outages.
Felicia, I sure hope you have a good day. Stay warm!
Lucy, I sure hope things are improving in your area. Prayers being lifted for you hubby and son.
Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours. Until next time...
Take Care and God Bless!

Harlene - Wonderful news! That's wonderful that you got that out of the way now and everything was fine! Sorry about your ice storm and all the difficulties it brings. I'm really concerned about Bobbiesue.
Felicia - I hope Darla gets the job that is meant for her to be happy in, I still have hopes for a miracle that she moves to Mpls. but God knows our hearts - Darla's too, and He knows where He wants her. Still Praying for St. Thomas though.
Juanita - another cold day here too, below zero, but I hear next week should be warmer. Thanks for another good post and thanks for your prayers.
serenity - You're so welcomed! This thread is for everyone who appreciates it, and it's good to know that some really do. Yes, let's keep Bobbiesue in our prayers. COPD makes it hard to breathe. Hope she's better and will post tomorrow.
