Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings are first - a phone call from a friend - they are always a blessing! Then just ordinary blessings throughout the day - blessings I won't take for granted, our heat in the cold weather, snow didn't come today, was predicted, love it when we're missed! A nice hot meal ready for when my husband came home from work hungry. A pork roast roasted on top of the stove with onions, potatoes and carrots. I am having a hard time getting eye drops in my right eye as it's so sensitive, and always closes, would you please say a prayer that I can get the drops in? I know I can count on you!! It's even hard for Linus to get a drop in. Thanks for all your prayers, you are all in mine, too, daily, even though I don't always mention it.

God answers all prayer, but keep in mind that His answers are
wiser than our prayer. Lord, give me enough wisdom to
recognize Your answers.

"When they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and
cried out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he
spoke to them and said, 'Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.'" ~Mark

I can take the most crowded day without fear. I believe that God is
with me and controlling all. I can let confidence be the motif running
through all the crowded day. I need not be worried, because I know
that God is my helper. Underneath are the everlasting arms of God.
I can rest in them, even though the day be full of things crowding in
upon me.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

God answers all prayer, but keep in mind that His answers are wiser
than our prayer. Lord, give me enough wisdom to recognize Your
answers.
I pray that I may be calm and let nothing upset me. I pray that I may
not let material things control me and choke out spiritual things.

A Prayer for Lent

"Lord, I come before You today to ask for Your blessings in all I do and to thank You, knowing that You will answer my prayer. I thank you Lord for my life just as it is. In Your time and in Your way Lord You will provide for my needs, help me to await these changes with patience and faith in Your holy providence. Help me also to praise Your Holy Name in the asking and in the receiving."

Jesus, I Want to Help You

May I become at all times,
both now and forever
A protector for those
without protection
A guide for those who have lost their way
A ship for those with oceans to cross
A bridge for those with rivers to cross
A sanctuary for those in danger
A lamp for those without light
A place of refuge
for those who lack shelter and a
servant to all in need.

Bl. Teresa of Calcutta

PRAYER FOR THE VIRTUE OF FAITH

Jesus, Your faith was in the Heavenly Father, Your steadfastness being my living model! Kindly grant me the richness of such faith, To embrace Your Father as my true Provider, Having staunch belief in His eminent powers And to remain loyal to Him until my last day. If my faith shifts as temporary waves, Rush to my rescue without any hesitation, Protecting others from my fleeting frailty. May Your Presence always be lively enjoyed, Enabling me to shine as a flame of faith. My faith loyally reaches out to You!

Great as the sea is thy sorrow
O wide expanse of lonely gray,
endless to sight
and deep beyond the sounding
of our shallow hearts,
how can we comfort thee?

Great as the sea, and silent
as a morning after storm.
O quietness
beside the shore’s wild wreckage,
O grief-worn waters,
what comfort can we bring?

O great like the sea, and profound!
O great, and as the sea, so stilled!
O Sorrow of Mary,
the infinite Heart of God alone
can comfort thee.

A VERY SMART DOCTOR...........
A worried woman went to her Gynecologist and said: 'Doctor, I have a serious
problem and desperately
need your help! My baby is not even 1 yr. old and I'm pregnant again. I
don't want kids so close together.'
So the doctor said: 'Ok, and what do you want me to do?'
She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help
with this.'
The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady:
'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for
you too.'
She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request. Then
he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to
have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your
arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is
born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it
is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.'
The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible for you to think
of killing my child!’
'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be ok with it, so I
thought maybe that was the best solution.'
The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the
mom that there Is no difference in killing a child that's already been born
and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

February 25

Rest in My Presence, allowing Me to take charge of this day. Do not bolt into the day like a racehorse suddenly released. Instead, walk purposefully with Me, letting Me direct your course one step at a time. Thank Me for each blessing along the way; this brings Joy to both you and Me. A grateful heart protects you from negative thinking. Thankfulness enables you to see the abundance I shower upon you daily. Your prayers and petitions are winged into heaven’s throne room when they are permeated with thanksgiving. In everything give thanks, for this is My will for you.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
—Colossians 4:2

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Gloria, have you tried pulling down the lower part of your eye and putting the drops down the bottom and then pushing it back up? That's the only way I can describe it. I can't look at anything coming directly at my eye and that is the only way I can do it. I have a hard time going to the opthamalogist, when they want to put drops in my eyes I tell them to do that and we have no problems. Would you believe I wore contacts for a very short time and that's what I had to do slide them in from the bottom up. I did that until I decided it was a real pain in the neck to do, and then I lost my vanity and got glasses, much easier. LOL!

Blessings to all.

Hello friends. Gloria, Lovestopaint is right. Put the drops in from the bottom up.

Blessings to all here. I have that Dr. appointment today. It snowed here this morning. Hope I get there and back without trouble. Say a prayer for me please. Thanks. Have a good day.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Gloria,

Thank you for the scriptures and words of encouragement. Prayer and being reminded of the big picture, knowing that God is in charge, centers our focus. We often think that we have to take care of every situation ourselves. Thank goodness for prayers and scriptures that remind us that we are not alone along this daily journey.* I understand how difficult it is to administer eye drops, my eyes want to close too. We were visited by snow last night! I am home today. My furbabies are so happy that I am...

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello! It's pretty late for me to post, but I thought I'd write anyway.I went out shopping for the day, and got a new bag for myself for my birthday coming up soon. I've been waiting for a good day to go, and I decided today was it. No snow here, and it got up into the mid 20's, so that was pretty good compared to some of the lows we've had.

Gloria, I hope the drops are working out better, and giving you some relief.

Bobbiesue, I hope you had no problems getting out. Enjoy your bible study!

Harlene, Did you feel ok after your test?

Angela, Nice to see you! Your post is so true. We need help all day every day. The days I keep that in mind go so much better for me.

See everyone tomorrow! pinky

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Pinky - Good you came! I was waiting for your post before I started the new one. I got the new eye drops today from Walmart. Haven't tried them yet, same kind, but a bigger bottle. The sample was really small. It sure is nice to see all of you here, missing Cakers and some others yet too, but glad we have who we have. Angela, keep coming! Pinky when is your birthday?
