Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Live life with an attitude of gratitude and partner with God in all that you
do.
Lord, thank You because I am blessed and highly favored.

Scripture for the day:

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are
varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of
activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."
~1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Meditation for the day:

God can be the great interpreter of one human personality to another.
Even personalities who are the nearest together have much in their natures
that remains a sealed book to each other. And only as God enters and leads
their lives are the mysteries of each revealed to the other. Each
personality is so different. God alone understands perfectly the language
of each and can interpret between the two. Here we can find the miracles of
change and the true interpretation of life.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be in the right relationship to God. I pray that God will
interpret to me the personalities of other people, so that I can understand
them and better help them.

Greetings my friends! Today I woke up to it snowing and colder out! It
didn't snow much, though, and it's not icy - yet. The blessing of my day
today was meeting Nettie, my cleaning lady. She's very nice. She made the
bathrooms shine, she scrubbed our kitchen floor on hands and knees! Linus
was impressed with her, too. Every email letter I get are blessings too,
and I've had a few lately and treasure them all and so glad that Sister
LaDonna can email me now. We still talk on the phone when it's free - after
nine is free on her cell and we had a nice visit last night. She still has
a hard time sleeping at night. Getting a good night's sleep is a blessing!
Let's continue to pray for her all who have a hard time sleeping, Darla does
too.

Lesson on Samuel
by Food For Thought

First Reading: 1 Sm 3:1-10, 19-20
Psalm: Ps 40:2 and 5, 7-8a, 8b-9, 10
Gospel: Mk 1:29-39

Samuel was lucky. Though he lived in a time where God’s revelation
had become uncommon, God reached out to Him. Luckier still Samuel
had Eli as a mentor to show him the way to receive God’s message.

But luck is not the lesson of Samuel and that of today’s Gospel
where the sick were fortunate to be at the right place and time to
receive Jesus’ healing power. The common message from the readings
today is God is present with us here in our world not only in the
past but also now.

Even as God may not reveal himself the way we would prefer Him to,
He is ready and eager to speak to us as He did with Samuel. And
even as we may be bogged down with problems and feel that no one
seems to care, Jesus is there ready and eager to help us, as He was
with the sick and those possessed by demons.

We need to become like Samuel. Not only do we need to be ready to
listen but also, we need to persevere enough to wait for the Lord to
speak to us. We need to be like the sick and the downcast who not
only waited for Jesus but also reached out to Him with persistent
faith.

As Christian we need to wait, listen and seek God’s message through
prayer, and to strive for Jesus’ healing touch to make us become
better individuals.

HE IS THE GREAT I AM!
Author Unknown

He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End!
He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be...
Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!

He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!

The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him,
and The leaders can't ignore Him.

Herod couldn't kill Him,
The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him,
and The people couldn't hold Him!

Nero couldn't crush Him,
Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him,
and Donahue can't explain Him away!

He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.

He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right, His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me.

He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy, He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and He rules my life!

I serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful, the ancient of days,
the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders,
the overseer of the overcomers, and the sovereign Lord
of all that was and is and is to come.

And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.
His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me, never forsake me,
Never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me,
and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!

When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!

He is everything for everybody, everywhere,
every time, and every way.

He is God,
He is faithful.
I am His, and He is mine!

My Father in heaven can whip the father
of this world. So, if you're wondering why I
feel so secure, understand this...

He said it and that settles it.
God is in control,
I am on His side, and that means all is well with my soul.

Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is!

I Am There

You cannot see Me,
yet I am the Light you see by.

You cannot hear Me,
yet I speak through your voice.

You cannot feel Me,
yet I am the power at work in your hands.

I am at work
though you do not understand My ways.

I am at work
though you do not recognize My works.

I am not strange visions,
I am not mysteries...
only in absolute stillness beyond self
can you know Me as I am
and then but as a feeling and a faith.

Yet, I am there. Yet I hear.
Yet I answer.
When you need Me, I am there.

Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.

I am there when you pray
and when you do not pray.

I am in you
you are in Me.

I am the law
on which the movement of the stars
and the growth of living cells are founded.

I am the love
that is law's fulfilling.

I am assurance.

I am peace.

I am openness.

I am the law
that you live by.

I am the love
that you cling to.

I am your assurance.

I am your peace.

I am one with you.

Beloved , I am there.

PRACTICING

I once heard a psychologist speak to a group of parents who were frustrated
by their teen-aged children's undesirable behaviours. The psychologist
explained, "Your adolescents are practicing to be adults, and they aren't
very good at it yet."

Those words stayed with me. Not only did they enable me to be more patient
with my son through his teenage years, but also I draw on them today in
relation to my own maturing in Christ. I am practicing to be a good
Christian, but I often demonstrate that I'm not very good at it yet.
Fortunately, God is more patient with me than I was able to be as a parent.

Now when I do fail, I ask my loved ones to be patient with me. Just as
teenagers usually grow up to be responsible adults, I am hoping -- with
God's help -- to become a more mature Christian.

Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive us when we fall short of your expectations for
us. Help us to become the people you want us to be. Amen.

Daily Prayer

Lord, our God, may your Son reign in our minds
so that we may think as He would have us think.

May He rule our hearts
so that we may love as He would have us love.

May He direct our whole behaviour
that it may be more like His.

Lord, for what we have, we are so grateful.

Help us especially to be sensitive and generous towards
others.
And finally, may we really want your Kingdom to come.

Amen.

May the Good Lord bless you and keep you His and grant you many blessings
for tomorrow and always. Enjoy His gifts - and give thanks.
