Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

God gives us power, love and self-discipline, not fear and timidness.
Lord, I will not be afraid to proclaim that You are my God. All will
see it in my actions.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the
mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and
foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult." ~Psalm 46:1-3

We can constantly claim God's strength. Once convinced of the right of
a course of action, once reasonably sure of God's guidance, we can claim
that strength. We can claim all the strength we need to meet any
situation. We can claim a new supply when our own supply is exhausted.
We have a right to claim it and we can use this right. A beggar
supplicates, a son appropriates. When we supplicate, we can be kept
waiting, but when we appropriate God's strength in a good cause, we can
have it at once.

I pray that I may claim God's strength whenever I need it. I pray that
I may try to live as a child of God.

Greetings my friends! Hope your day went well. I was at work with Lori's
today - all day. When she had time we went out for lunch in the mall and
bought a real nice Wedding Book for Darla and Greg. IT will have their
names engraved on it and the date of the Wedding. It holds 8x10's, and
other sizes of pictures. I'm sure she'll love it. We've got her finished
now, got her some clothes too, Lori's dishes (fiestaware) are in the mail
and we'll just have stockings to do yet. We buy different kinds of herbs
and spices for the stockings. Today was a blessing to hear from Darla - she
called. She is on her way home now - left at 6:30 tonight. So anxious to
see her!!

Mother Teresa said...
May we all have hearts overflowing with love as a reflection of God's love.
God's love is what can save our families, our country, and the world.

Hail Most Loving Little Jesus, In Preparation for Christmas Day
Hail, most loving little Jesus, sweetest love, far above all created love!
I greet Thee, and in the desires of all Christendom I embrace Thee.

Hail, most charming little Jesus, noble Child of Nazareth, full rose of
Jericho, blooming flower from Heaven! Draw our hearts to Thyself and refresh
them with Thy sweetness.

Hail, most lovable little Jesus, living Bread ot Bethlehem, innocent Lamb of
Jerusalem, newly-born King of Judea! Receive us into the number of Thy
chosen servants.

Hail, most beautiful little Jesus, watchful Shepherd of the Heavenly
sheep, beloved fellow-Brother of all the children of men, delicate flower
planted by the Holy Spirit in the virgin heart of Mary, bright daybreak
rising out of the dark night to the joy of the whole earth! Drive away from
us the darkness of sin.

Glory and praise be to Thee, tender, sweet little Jesus! From the
depths of my heart I pray and adore Thee because for the love of me and of
all mankind Thou wert willing to lie in the manger and to suffer such great
poverty and misery. I thank and adore Thy tender limbs and Thy tender hands
and feet, and I praise the inexpressible love which drew Thee forth from the
bosom of the Heavenly Father, down to a poor and miserable stable.

Glory and praise be to Thee, noble little Jesus! I greet and praise
Thee with the same fervent love with which Thy mother loved and praised Thee
so intensely.

Glory and praise be to Thee, most beloved little Jesus, sweet delight
of eternal bliss. I greet and praise Thee with the same love which made Thee
leave Heaven and become a poor Child.

Glory and praise be to Thee, most precious little Jesus, joy and honor
of Thy Heavenly Father! I thank Thee through Thine Own sweet Heart which
Thou didst reveal to the whole world through Thy birth. I greet Thee over
and over again, most beautiful little Jesus, sweetest delight of the
Father's Heart, refreshment of sick souls. I offer to Thee my own heart for
Thy eternal glory and service.

Jesus, crown, love, joy, bliss of virgins! Thy love made Thee the Son
of a Virgin. May Thou be glorified and praised forever. Amen.

(St. Gertrude)

A Special "Birthday Cake" For Jesus

Put in a cup of humility,
A cup of love goes in too.
Add a cup of caring and sharing,
I'm making it just for you.
You're my Savior and redeemer
So I'll add my heart as well,
For dying on that cross for me
And saving my soul from H ell.
I'll put in lots of forgiveness
For my fellow man,
For many here on Earth
Refuse God's perfect plan.
I'll add a cup of "glad" and "thankfuls"
Because God has for me,
A perfect place in His Kingdom
To live for eternity.
I'll add my cup of cheer as well,
And a cup or two of faith,
That my friends and family near to me,
Will enter in that pearly gate.
I'll stir it all up in my soul,
And offer it to my King.
For myself is all I have to give,
I haven't any other thing.
I'll ice it all over with my prayers,
To be a lamp so bright,
So others may see in me
God's perfect wondrous light.
Happy Birthday Jesus!

The Anatomy Of A True Friend

Eyes:
Will always see you for the way you really are, your true self.

Ears:
Will always have them open to listen.

Mouth:
To always tell you the truth and give their opinions, tell you when you
mess up or do something good.

Shoulder:
Will offer when you need one to cry on, will be your strength when you
find it hard to carry yourself. Will always let you lean on them.

Heart:
To love you for who you are and not judge, Will always have a place there
for you.

Hands:
To hold yours when you need a little guidance, to lend when you need
help, and to help you up when you may fall.

Arms:
Will always make you feel comfortable in them and to offer hugs when you
need one. Will try to warm when you are cold.

Feet:
To walk with you throughout your life and be the best friend they can be.

Praying Over My To-Do List

I sit here with my list, Lord, and I know I need help finding a balance. I
am so looking forward to Christmas Day, with the family here, the company,
the wonderful celebration. But, Lord, there is SO much to do! When will it
all get done? How will I maintain any semblance of inner peace in this
"peaceful" season?
I think, Lord, that I need some balance in my life. I feel so torn between
wanting to cook and fill my house with wonderful welcoming smells, and
wanting to finish decorating the house. I have shopping to do, the house to
clean and cards to write and mail. When? How?

Help me, guide me, Lord. Help me to set priorities around doing those things
that will bring me closer to you. Maybe my house really is clean enough, or
maybe I can ask my family for help. Can the cards wait until a quiet
afternoon after Christmas? Can my house decorations be simpler? Is there
more than a little ego involved when I want so desperately to have my house
"magazine perfect" for the holidays?

Help me rediscover the joy of simplicity, Lord. Help me to remember what I
am celebrating. Help me to find it in my heart to call out, "Come, Lord
Jesus."
