I have gotten myself into a rather sticky situation. I have a large adult male dog. I have a friend who also has a male dog. This friend is having to move from her home into an apartment. With much trepidation, I agreed to take her dog in. I live in the country - lots of room to run and play. I now realize I made this decision with my heart and not my head. I should have given it a little more thought.
I have now had her dog for two days and have managed (with a lot of trouble) to keep the two apart. I am anticipating a huge fight once they are face to face. I am terrified to put them together. They have caught glimpes of each other and just the growling and snarling is bad enough. I don't want to end up having to take one or both to the vet!
Any suggestions on the best way to handle this?
