Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! Today went well - I emailed him at work to find out how he's doing and he wrote back he was doing well! Praise be Jesus!! Last night in bed I was thinking of the side effects of Androgel he's been taking - not good, there's a lawsuit out, something about strokes and heart attacks and death, so he's quit taking that now, and today when I had my hair cut, Georgia mentioned that she takes CoQ10 and that gives her energy, so I'm thinking we'll do that together. It's natural, and of course we'll talk it all over with Dr. on Friday. I just read Dr. Weil's article on this and printed it. This morning he had a CT Scan. Praying for you all - thanks for your prayers for us which is always very much appreciated.

Study who you are and follow your heart because it will often lead you

to miracles. Lord, in knowing who I am, I will become better able to know

and serve You.

Scripture for the day:

"But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and

persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act--they will

be blessed in their doing." ~James 1:25

Meditation for the day:

When something happens to upset us and we are discouraged, we can try

to feel that life's difficulties and troubles are not intended to

arrest our progress in the spiritual life, but to test our strength

and to

increase our determination to keep going. Whatever it is that must be

met, we can either overcome it or use it. Nothing need daunt us for

long, nor need any difficulty entirely overcome or conquer us. God's

strength is always there, waiting for us to use it. Nothing can be

too great to be overcome, or if not overcome, then used.

Prayer for the day;

I pray that I may know that there can be no failure with God. I pray

that with God's help I may live a more victorious life.

INVOCATIONS TO THE HOLY GUARDIAN ANGEL

Holy Angel, my counselor, inspire me; Holy Angel, my defender, protect me;

Holy Angel, my faithful friend; intercede for me;

Holy Angel, my consoler, fortify me; Holy Angel, my brother, defend me;

Holy Angel, my teacher, instruct me;

Holy Angel, witness of all my actions, purify me;

Holy Angel, my helper, support me;

Holy Angel, my intercessor, speak for me;

Holy Angel, my guide, direct me; Holy Angel, my light, enlighten me;

Holy Angel, whom God has assigned to lead me, govern me.

A man came to his counselor in great distress. He was a shopkeeper and they

had opened a supermarket right across the street from him. It would

eventually drive him out of business. His family had owned the shop for over

a hundred years, and to lose it would be his undoing, for there was nothing

else he was skilled at. What should he do?

The counselor said, "If you fear the owner of the supermarket, you will hate

him. And hatred will be your undoing. Here is what you are to do: every

morning walk out of your shop onto the footpath and say a prayer of blessing

over your shop, wishing it prosperity. Then turn to the supermarket and

bless it too."

"What! Bless my competitor and destroyer?" "Any blessing you give him will

rebound to your good. Any evil you wish him will destroy you."

After six months the man returned to his counselor to report that he had had

to close down his shop, as he had feared. But now he was in charge of the

supermarket, and his affairs were in much better shape than ever before...

10 COMMON CONFLICT RESOLUTION MISTAKES

Author Unknown

November 9, 2009

Ten Common Conflict Resolution Mistakes and How to Avoid Them:

One of the most common and frustrating impediments to worker

productivity is conflict between employees. Unresolved conflict can

strain relationships, create tension and negativity, and dampen

morale. Whether engaged in a heated debate, a disagreement, or an

outright feud, take a

strategic approach to resolving the problem. You’ll be most effective

if you avoid making these common mistakes.

1. Don’t make assumptions about the situation or the other person’s

perceptions, motivations, or reactions. You’ll get a much clearer and

more accurate picture by asking the other person directly.

2. Don’t take it personally - it rarely is!

3. Don’t look for blame. Instead, try to identify cause.

4. Don’t avoid the problem. It’ll only get worse, breed resentment,

and resurface at a later date. You’ve simply got to deal directly with

the issue at hand.

5. Don’t attack the other person’s character. That’s just playing

dirty. It will not help you work things out and it will almost

certainly have a lasting, negative impact.

6. Don’t gossip about the problem or about the other person involved.

It’s unprofessional and will only make matters worse.

7. Don’t bring it up in public. This is a private matter to be

resolved between you and the other party.

8. Don’t bring it up when there’s not enough time to address it.

Instead, leave adequate time for a thorough discussion - or introduce

the issue and schedule a

time to resume talks in the immediate future.

9. Don’t bring it up when you’re angry, stressed, or feeling ill.

That’s a disservice to you and the other person involved. Wait until

you’re calm.

10. Don’t address the situation in an email. Email leaves far too much

room for misinterpretation. While we’re on the subject, don’t copy

others on a personal matter. This will almost certainly make the other

party feel defensive, angry, or humiliated. It won’t, however, help

resolve the problem.

CLOSE YOUR EYES

Author Unknown

I will not leave you as orphans. -John 14:18

I recently took my mother-in-law to the orthopedic surgeon for an

examination. One of the tests was for her to shut her eyes and try to

walk a few steps. She was aware her balance was off, but she did as

the doctor asked, anyway. She knew that he was asking her to do

something important, and she had confidence that he would catch her when she

began to sway and fall.

Do we act with the same trust and faith in God as she had done with

the doctor? When He asks us to do something we know will be

uncomfortable or scary, are we obedient? Do we have faith that He will

be there to catch us? That He will not let us fall flat on our faces?

That His everlasting arms are big enough to hold us through the

frightening times of life?

I pray we would have that type of an obedient spirit, and have that

much faith. God tells us in the Bible He will never leave or forsake

us- and His promises are true! He has proved them over and over to us,

time and again throughout the ages as well as with me on a personal

level. Thank you, dear Lord, for you promises. Especially the one that

says you will always be with us.

Ideals

Remember that ideals

are like stars up in the sky,

You can never really reach them,

hanging in the heavens high....

But like the mighty mariner

who sailed the storm-tossed sea,

And used the stars to chart his course

with skill and certainty,

You too can chart your course in life

with high ideals and love,

For high ideals are like the stars

that light the sky above....

You cannot ever reach them,

but lift your heart up high

And your life will be as shining

as the stars up in the sky.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

That's good news Gloria, Our army of prayer's will keep up the prayers for Linus.

My blessings continue with my Sciatica getting better, thanks to my Chiropractor. I see my podiatrist tonight for this callus on my foot, I think I will have to see him more than just every ten weeks, because after about five or six weeks the pain just gets worse.

Counting my blessings, and blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Glad to hear that Linus had a good day and is feeling better. There are so many side effects in some meds. You never know if they do more harm than good.

Harlene, also glad you are feeling better except for the callus. It's always something, isn't it!

Jamma, good to hear from you.

My cousin, Lynn, is being released today. I am thankful for that. She has a long way to go before she is well but with her great attitude and the Lord's help, she will perk up in no time. Thanks for your prayers.

I'm happy to report that my other cousins, Ken and Sandra, were released from the rehab hospitals and both are doing fine. With his heart transplant and relapse, he had a hard time. Sandra finally got off the breathing machine and was able to breath on her own. They also have to regain their strength and completely heal but they're on their way. The Lord is mighty good. I appreciate your prayers in their behalf.

Keep my Mother-in-law in your prayers. She is 83 and just not feeling good. Her attitude is a good one, she says that there is always someone worse off than she.

I have housework to get to so I will hush. Thoughts and prayers to everyone.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello everyone,

Hebrews 11:5-6 "By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so tht he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."

May we seek God, more and more as we go through this journey of life. Not only when our decisions are big, but small ones to. Sometimes when we are faced to make a decision, we are only thinking about ourselves or other people. May we place God above everything, and seek Him first...it please's God, when our decisions include Him. Whether big or small...when we seek Him first, we already made the right choice.

Gloriajean, glad to hear that Linus is feeling a little better. And prayers will continue for him.

Harlene, prayers continue for you. May God have you pain free soon. As for the callus...I was once bothered by them. I put vitamin E oil on and a thick gauze pad to cushion it. It took awhile but finally got rid of it. No more high heel shoes for me. Lol!

Jamma, thank you for posting, and praying along with us. May your day be wonderful and full of God's blessings.

Lucy, glad that Ken and Sandra are on there way to a full recovery. It's been a long road for them. I will keep Lynn in my prayers. Betty, I believe is your mother-in-laws name. I pray often for her, but will step it up a notch that she will be feeling better soon. Loved the picture yesterday of our Gulf coast. Just one of my favorite places in Alabama.

My blessing, so thankful that God cares so much for me. He sure has been good, even when I feel that I have failed Him...He picks me up and shows me the way.

Keeping all in my prayers. Thank you for yours! Until next time...

Take care, stay safe, and God bless!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Harlene - Let's keep the army of prayers going! For your back too! Hope day by day it gets much better and healed. That goes for your foot, too.

Jamma - Prayers do work - and St. Jude is a great Saint to pray to, for his intercession. Thank you!!

Lucy - in Linus' case it seems like his androgel was doing more harm than good with it's side effects - he's off it now, darn thing is expensive too! Glad to hear answers to prayers for those loved ones of yours, now your Mother-in-Law needs prayers and she'll get them here. She is one year older than my sister, Deil.

Juanita - thanks for your continued prayers. They all are so appreciated!! Great words of wisdom in your post again!!!

Bobbiesue - so sorry to hear you've been in the hospital! You were missed here! Oh my! Pneumonia and COPD - Serious stuff!!! You have our prayers for sure. Hope you are feeling better now.
