Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! Found out tonight that little Grace does have pneumonia. We were with her grandparents tonight. Michelle told them they saw us at the restaurant. Her fever really got up there to 105 or 6, she said! Would you believe at this restaurant they had two concertinas playing old time music all the while we were there? Lots of waltzes, but no dancing, no room for that. Different. Had a nice time visiting with his siblings and spouses. The next one will be Nov. 19th for another brother's birthday. Hope your day went well, and may all your prayers be answered.

Jesus is the greatest giver of happiness that anyone has ever known.

Take Him into your heart. Lord, Your presence in my life brings me

great joy.

Scripture for the day:

"If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you

wish, and it will be done for you." ~John 15:7

Meditation for the day:

"Ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." God has

unlimited power. There is no limit to what God's power can do in

human hearts. We can will to have God's power and we can ask God for

it. God's power can be blocked by our indifference to it. We can go

along our own selfish way without calling on God's help, and we

receive no power. But when we trust in God, we can will to have the

power we need. When we sincerely ask God for it, we can receive it

abundantly.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may will to have God's power. I pray that I may keep

praying for the strength I need.

A Visit with Jesus

I will pay a visit to Jesus at least once each day. In my own words I will

tell Jesus that I believe that He is truly present in the tabernacle and

that I adore Him, as He is my God. I will talk to Him about any joy or

trouble I have had since my last visit. I will say a short prayer, for

instance: "Jesus, my God, I adore Thee here truly present in the Sacrament

of Thy love." Amen.

Reach Up

"Ye, though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I will fear no

evil."

The journey each of us walks is not always a meadow full of flowers.

Sometimes it is a journey up a mountain, loose rocks and steep inclines.

We so often loose sight of the beautiful scenery because of our attempts to

hold on. We have to struggle with many things in this world that makes us

feel alone.

Arthritis grips us tight and wrenches pain from within. Diabetes cuts our

feelings ulcerates our skin. Cancer files away at the cells of our body and

leaves us weak. Blindness takes away our vision and paints our world black.

Mental disabilities hold our thoughts and leave us in a lonely room. Cruelty

of others cuts our hearts and leaves us empty.

We were born to celebrate, to reach up and believe. We were born to rejoice,

to lift our hands to life. We were born to sing, to paint rainbows with our

voice. We were born to love, to hold the hands of gentleness. We were born

to share, to be a blessing to those around us.

Reach up, my friend and believe for that is God's dream. Lift your hands, my

friend and live for that is God's purpose. Paint your world, my friend with

songs for that is God's compassion. Hold on, my friend with gentleness for

that is God's love. Bless those around you, my friend for you are God's

gift.

No less than a flower planted by angels and nurtured by the hands of God.

Prayer for Protection (especially from flu)

O Holy Virgin Mary, conceived without sin, I choose thee this day to be the

Lady and Mistress of our home, and I pray thee, in the name of the Most

Precious Blood of Jesus, thy Divine Son, and of thy Immaculate Conception,

to preserve it from fire and lightning, from tempests and thieves, from

cholera, influenza, diphtheria, malaria, and all other contagious and

pestilential diseases.

Bless and protect every member of our family, preserve us from sin, from

sudden and unprovided death, and from all other evils and accidents, in the

name and through the merits of the most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus

Christ. Amen.

Healing Prayer

Dear God:

Be my redeemer, my internal teacher, my divine physician.

Thank You for your presence in my life.

I surrender to You all I am, all I think, all I feel, and all I have.

I recognize in this moment that Yours is the power to heal and make whole.

You who have the power to work miracles,

You who rule time and space, please take me in Your arms and hold me.

Dear Lord, please lift me up and heal me.

Cast out of my mind all thoughts that are not of You.

Cast out of me all harsh and critical nature.

Cast out of me all violence and all anger.

Cast out of me all demons from my past.

For I would be made new.

I wish to walk so close to You that we might be as one.

I ask for new life, new mind, new body, new spirit.

Dear God, please come into me and release me from this pain.

Amen.

THE DIFFERENCE

Winners say, If it is to be, it is up to me.

Losers say, I can't help it.

Winners translate dreams into reality.

Losers translate reality into dreams.

Winners empower.

Losers control.

Winners say, Let's find out.

Losers say, Nobody knows.

Winners are part of the solution.

Losers are part of the problem.

Winners are not afraid of losing.

Losers are afraid of winning.

Winners work harder than losers.

Losers are always too busy.

Winners say, I was wrong.

Losers say, It was not my fault.

Winners want to.

Losers have to.

Winners always make time.

Losers often waste time.

Winners say, I'll plan to do that.

Losers say, I'll try to do that.

Winners say, I'm good but not as good as I can be.

Losers say, I'm not as bad as a lot of other people.

Winners listen to what others say.

Losers wait until it's their turn to talk.

Winners catch others doing things right.

Losers catch others doing things wrong.

Winners learn from others.

Losers resent their colleagues.

Winners see opportunities.

Losers see only the problems.

Winners do it.

Losers talk about it.

Winners feel responsible for more than their jobs.

Losers frequently state, I only work here.

Winners say, There ought to be a better way.

Losers say, That's the way it's always been done.

Winners celebrate others.

Losers complain about others.

Winners are willing to pay the price.

Losers expect it on a silver platter.

Winners always expect success.

Losers always expect failure.

Life is not a simple journey

Every step, every stumble, and every victory that we experience each

day, have already been experienced by Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I have many difficulties and fears to face each day, and I

don't know what to do or who to turn to in my times of need.

So often, I feel alone on my journey through life, and at times I feel

that even you are NOT with me when I need you most.

Open my mind and heart now, as I spend these moments praying and

meditating on your immense love for me.

Help me to see that I am not alone, that you are with me, and that all

my brothers and sisters have problems, needs and dreams that await your

action.

Keep me from all harm, and guide me in your everlasting ways.

You've Been Approved

"There are some things money can't buy,

for everything else there's Master Card."

I'm sure you've all seen those commercials on TV.

Well, I'm not unlike those agencies promoting their favorite credit card.

However, I'm here to advertise a different card.

You see, my life is a commercial for others to see.

I'm a card carrying representative for the Master's Card.

That's right, the MASTER'S CARD.

Let me tell you about it.

There are no finance charges,

no payments due.

My bill has already been covered...

it's a prepaid deal.

I couldn't afford the price,

so Jesus stepped in and paid it for me.

My Name is written on the card for all to see.

It is accessible twenty-four hours

a day from anywhere in the world.

The MASTER'S CARD has so many benefits

it's hard to list them all.

Let me share some of them with you...

you might want to apply for a personal card yourself.

Just for starters there is UNLIMITED GRACE.

That's right,

there is no preset limit to the amount of grace you receive from the

MASTER'S CARD.

Have you been looking for love in all the wrong places?

Then, look no farther than the MASTER'S CARD.

It offers the greatest rate on love that has ever been offered.

The MASTER'S CARD gives you access to many "members only" benefits.

Want real joy despite the difficulties of life?

Apply for the MASTER'S CARD.

Want a lasting peace? Apply for the MASTER'S CARD.

Looking for something you can always rely on in a jam?

The MASTER'S CARD is perfect for you.

Another great thing about the MASTER'S CARD is

that it never expires.

Once you're a member,

you're a member for life...eternal life, that is.

Membership has its privileges, you know.

[Note: this membership is only revoked should you choose another master.]

How do you receive the MASTER'S CARD.

Dial 1-800-ROMANS-10:9 "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart

that God hath raised him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved.

Jesus is standing by right now to take your call.

Don't delay.

This great offer won't last forever.

Peace,

joy

and hope:

Invaluable.

Faith,

contentment

and assurance:

Inestimable.

Salvation:

Priceless.

Christian,

yes,

there are some things money can buy.

But for those other jewels of life there's the MASTER'S CARD.

Why not be an advertisement for the MASTER'S CARD?

Let your life be a commercial today for Jesus Christ.

A PRAYER TO OUR LADY FOR HEALING

Mary Immaculate, you have given yourself to us as our Lady of the Miraculous

Medal. You have asked us to pray with confidence, and we will receive great

graces. We know your compassion, because you saw your Son suffer and die for

us. In your union with his suffering you became the mother of us all.

Mary, my mother, teach me to understand my suffering as you do and to endure

it in union with the suffering of Jesus. In your motherly love, calm my

fears and increase my trust in God's loving care.

According to God's plan, obtain for me the healing I need. Intercede with

your Son that I may have the strength I need to work for God's glory and the

salvation of the world. Amen.

Meditations by Padre Pio

The struggle we have prior to a good work we intend to do is like the

antiphon that precedes the solemn psalm to be sung.

Mother Teresa Said...

Perfect prayer does not consist in many words but in the fervor of the

desire which raised the heart to Jesus.

Jesus has chosen us to be souls of prayer, and our actions are fruitful only

if they are the true expression of earnest prayer. We must fix our gaze on

Jesus, and if we work together with Jesus we will do much better.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Good Morning Everyone:

It's been a while since I stopped by, but I have been reading the posts.

Still been busy trying to settle things since DH passed away, but fortunately we are heading towards the finish line.

However, I did attend a support group for those who have lost a loved one which is held once a month in our church rectory and led by our pastor. I am not one to be a big fan of these type groups, but it was nice to sit and talk with 5 other widows (been widows much longer than I) and share feelings. It made it "cozier" because it was a small group who were members of the parish and lived close by. Sounds silly, but it was almost like family. I would prefer this type and not a group of 20-30 where it is difficult to talk and voice your concerns.

Saying hello to all the ladies who visit here. I continue to pray for those who are going through trying and difficult times or just may need a prayer or two.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello everyone,

Gloriajean prayers for Grace. Did you find your coupon?

Harlene, hope your day is going well.

Shorelady, good to hear from you. May God continue to move you forward. Happy that your church has a support group, and yes I feel the same way smaller is better, you get to know each other on a more personal bases.

Lucy, Praising God, Thank You Lord Jesus, for Lynns outcome. Prayers will continue.

The last two days, I've been cleaning the basement, spraying for scorpions, spiders, and what not. Yesterday, I came to a halt, when I saw some damp boxes that were my mothers. Got the ladder and climbed up and sure enough there was water. Coming from the hot water in the kitchen, at first I thought it was at the elbow...went upstairs and looked under the sink, and it's the connector that goes from the faucet to the water line. So it's an easy fix, just have to get some money together and then fix it. Thanking God it wasn't at the elbow. Water is shut off there for now.

Most of my mothers stuff is in plastic tubs, but there are some boxes. This box I will have to dry things out. But I found an interesting newspaper article about my cousin on my dad's side of the family. In short he was one of the 425 outstanding soldiers from Fort Belvoir, VA, who was selected to line the inauguration parade route from The Capitol to the White House for the inauguration ceremonies for President John F. Kennedy.

I find it a blessing whenever I go and look at my mothers stuff. It brings back so many memories, and it seems I learn more and more about the family. My mother saved everything and you just can't toss the stuff, you have to look through it. Like this article was in a little book called "Bible Questions and Answers. Sorta like a pamphlet.

Friends, I sure hope everyone has a good rest of the day. And let us remember...God has everything in His control even when we can't perceive it. Until next time...

Please take care, stay safe, and may God Bless each and everyone of you.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Harlene - thanks much for your prayers!! HOpe your back is getting better and better day by day with your chiro who really works well for you.

shorelady - so nice to see you here again - I'm glad you still do read here when you can't come to post, I'm so glad you found a good nice and small support group with your Church. That is great and I'm sure will help a lot! God works thru those, and that's the way to go, I'm sure. Come again anytime, we care for you and love you.

Lucy - so glad to hear about your cousin doing so well after surgery! Praise God for answered prayers. Nice graphics.

Juanita - thanks for your great post and no, haven't found that coupon yet, it would be a savings of about 70.00 Lori says, so again today I've been at it again looking and going through drawers. Hope it didn't accidentally get dumped out. What a waste of money if it had. Still praying to St. Anthony, not giving up just yet. Tony, cough it up! Speaking of things from your Mother, I still have some recipes from her in her own handwriting, and I cannot throw that away even if I don't use the recipes, they are there. Lots of times I wish I could just ask her things. She had lots of wisdom.
