Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Choose the direction of your day and then make a point of enjoying your
choices.
Lord, help me to do what I can when I can, but also, help me to know when
doing
nothing is the better choice.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

In our times of meditation we can seem to hear: "Come to me, all you that
are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Again
and again we can seem to hear God saying this to us. "Come to me" for the
solution of every problem, for the overcoming of every temptation, for the
calming of every fear, for all our needs ... physical, mental or spiritual,
but mostly "come to me" for the strength we need to live with peace of mind
and the power to be useful and effective.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may go to God today for those things which I need to help me
live. I pray that I may find real peace of mind.

Hello my friends! Hope your Saturday was a good one. It was a fun day for
me - with Angie here, Lori took us to a nursery where she bought plants to
plant in her yard, and they are very pretty! Then she took us to an old
Train Depot - that was transformed into a shopping place - and wine
tasting - we were there for the first time and were really impressed what
all they have there!!! The Depot was moved from about a half hour or more
away to near where we live. I've always wanted to see it inside, and this
was our chance. Very beautiful indeed! Lots of unique things to buy. We
bought some small bottles of wine to taste. Then we took Angie to the Café
after Linus got home from work. What a fun night we had there! Our waiter
was so funny! And Jim, of course, gave us free dessert and drinks and a
nice visit with us. We won't be going there now for awhile until we can
afford it more, but we just had to tonight because Angie was with us and
it's always fun to bring her there. So it was a very pleasant and peaceful
and postiive day for me filled with many blessings! How about you?

Mother Teresa Said...

"Like Jesus, who submitted Himself to the common law of labor
and the common lot of the poor, we will not seek any special privileges
or treatment for ourselves, but be happy to be treated as one of the poor,
ready to be insulted, ill-treated, refused, blamed falsely,
or put into all kinds of inconveniences.
We shall not seek to defend ourselves,
but leave our defense to the Lord.
We will not worry about tomorrow
but will live the present moment intensely
with complete trust in God."

The Immensity of His Power

Spirituality is about placing ourselves before God
in hope, trusting in the immensity of his power
which will raise us from the dead.

from The Journey Within: Prayer as a Path to God

I choose to breathe the Breath of Christ,
the breath that makes all life holy.

I choose to live the flesh of Christ,
the flesh that outlasts all decay.

I choose to feel the Blood of Christ in my heart,
a goodness and beauty pulsing in my veins.

I choose the living waters flowing from His side
to wash all the world clean.

I choose the agony and sorrows of Christ
to fill all my sufferings with meaning and
power.

I choose You, dear Jesus.

Count me among those that You have won through Your
cross.
Never number me among those against You or far
from You.
Protect me from all that seeks to destroy me.
And in the hour of my death, call me.
Summon me to come to You,
and place me among Your angels and saints
forever.
Father of all, help me always to choose Christ
in the world. AMEN.

NO TIME
Author Unknown

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time to die.

I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in His hands God held a book;
It was the Book of Life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down . . .
But never found the time"
