Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! I will be here all weekend as Lori did have to cancel her eye surgery for March sometime. She is so sick - chest cold, coughing, she went to Urgent Care this afternoon and got some anti-biotics and cough medicine with codeine in it, she also had a slight fever. So it's best she stays home and takes care of herself. No surgery would take place anyway with her being sick. We needed new tires, didn't have money for that, but God does provide, and he found out that his tires were still on warranty and he got 4 new tires free!!! Wow! What a blessing that was!! He got a couple small sales too, so that's more blessings!!

It is you, not where you are or what you have, that makes the difference.

Lord, may I always blossom where I am planted.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"I will look to the LORD, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God

will hear me." ~Micah 7:7

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

We can admit our own helplessness. God will hear our prayer. Our own need

can be recognized, then we can ask God for the strength to meet that need.

But once that need is recognized, our prayer is heard above all the music of

heaven. It is not theological arguments that solve the problems of the

questing soul, but the sincere cry of that soul to God for strength and the

certainty of that soul that the cry can be heard and answered.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may be humble enough to realize my need and ask for help. I

pray that I may fell certain that God will hear and answer my prayer.

Words of Mother Teresa

A clean heart is a free heart. A free heart can love Christ with an

undivided love in chastity, convinced that nothing and nobody will separate

it from his love. Purity, chastity, and virginity created a special beauty

in Mary that attracted God’s attention. He showed his great love for the

world by giving Jesus to her.

There is a terrible hunger for love. We all experience that in our lives -

the pain, the loneliness. We must have the courage to recognize it. The poor

you may have right in your own family.

Find them.

Love them.

Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the

silence of the heart.

Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on

the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own

weakness.

Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in

your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile.

Don't only give your care, but give your heart as well.

The more you have, the more you are occupied, the less you give. But the

less you have the more free you are. Poverty for us is a freedom. It is not

mortification, a penance.

It is joyful freedom. There is no television here, no this, no that. But we

are perfectly happy.

I pray that you will understand the words of Jesus, “Love one another as I

have loved you.” Ask yourself “How has he loved me? Do I really love others

in the same way?” Unless this love is among us, we can kill ourselves with

work and it will only be work, not love. Work without love is slavery.

Little things are indeed little, but to be faithful in little things is a

great thing.

A sacrifice to be real must cost, must hurt, must empty ourselves. The fruit

of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is

love, the fruit of love is service, the fruit of service is peace.

TOMORROW IS NOT PROMISED

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were

meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or

help figure out who you are and who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be: your neighbor, child, long lost

friend, lover, or even a complete stranger who, when you lock eyes with

them, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life in some

profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you and at the time they seem painful and

unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those

obstacles you would have never realized your potential strength, will power,

or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of

good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and

sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, whether they be events, illnesses or

relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to

nowhere, safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life and the successes and downfalls you

experience create who you are, and even the bad experiences can be learned

from. In fact, they are probably the poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them, for

they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious

to whom you open your heart...

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they

love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart

and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything

that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again...

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen, let

yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high...

Hold your head up because you have every right too. Tell yourself you are a

great individual and believe in yourself... for if you don't believe in

yourself, no one else will believe in you either.

Create your own life and then go out and live in it! "Live Each Day As If It

Were Your Last...Tomorrow is Not Promised"

Novena to Obtain Graces Through the Intercession of St. Faustina

O Jesus, Who filled Your servant, St. Faustina, with profound veneration for

Your boundless Mercy, deign, if it be Your holy will, to grant me, through

her intercession, the grace for which I fervently pray.

My sins render me unworthy of Your Mercy, but be mindful of St. Faustina's

spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, and reward her virtue by granting the

petition which, with childlike confidence, I present to You through her

intercession. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Redeemer of all, hear my prayer

For the love You bear

to those who ask forgiveness,

look mercifully on me,

as once You looked on Mary Magdalene

and on Peter who denied You.

Look on me, Lord Jesus Christ,

as You looked on the thief on his cross

and on every sinner

whom You have ever forgiven.

Look on me, merciful Lord,

as You looked on Your mother, Mary,

standing in sorrow beneath Your cross.

Let me feel in my heart her compassion for You,

and let my eyes weep for the sorrows

my sins have caused.

Call me from darkness

to my Father's house,

give me a new heart

and a place at Your side

at the banquet of Your kingdom. Amen

I am sorry, dear Lord...

Don't let me hurt You everyday...

Hear my prayers...

Give me wisdom...

and save me.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Good morning, Gloria! Sorry to hear that Lori is so sick. There's a terrible bug going around here, too, and it sounds like the same that she's going through. I'll change my prayers for a successful surgery to helping her get to feeling better with this bug!

Our weather has started a warm-up, rain today but much warmer, high 50s today and I think 70s tomorrow! Much better than the teens, especially for those of us who just aren't used to anything below freezing! Feeling very blessed with that change.

I hope you all have a good and safe Saturday.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Puffcorn - Welcome to our thread!! So glad you liked the video! Come again and post!

Carolina - So nice to see you here again!! I know you're so busy, so when you can post here, it's so appreciated not just by me but others here too who remember you well. Gosh! it will be summertime here before we get up to 70's. Enjoy the nice weather!! Darla is in Miami now with Greg for a job interview. She said that the interview went ok, but it's not a good place for Greg to get a job in his field of electrical engineer Still praying for that miracle in Mpls area - St. Thomas to call her! God's Will be done! On Facebook Greg took some cute pictures of her in Miami, looks really nice out there, pictures by a palm tree.

Love Roses - That's in a lot of beliefs - God is everywhere, and he answers us, just not exactly how we think He will! He's always full of surprises!!

Bobbiesue - how was the doctor's appointment? Did you get some antbiotics? Lori did yesterday and they seem to be helping.

Harlene - Thanks for your prayers for Lori - yes, she is starting to feel better now. Surgery will be the first part of March now. This month she is going to see her sister in Texas around her birthday for her birthday present from Darla and us - the airline tickets, and so she's putting off the surgery for March.
