Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends! My day went well - first the dentist - had a tooth re-filled, and everything was without pain! That's great!! I like that they number your gums first before even injecting the Novocaine in. Then I took a nap and later in the afternoon I had my appt. with my Nurse Practitioner, Carol. It was so surprising that I got her, because she is so book up, but she had a cancellation, so she was able to see me today. Praise God!! She said at this rate I'm going, I do need antibiotics and so prescribed them, and I started my first one tonight. When I asked what I can do to keep it away, she told me of a Young Living tincture, called K and B - 2 droppers daily - so I am on the way to good health now. When I told Lori that she came right over and ordered it for me - it was some $20.00. That is my blessings for today, how I got in today with Carol was a miracle! Anyway - what are your blessings? Please pray that my husband has help tomorrow in sawing boards for Lori's shed. He's already had a sawing accident with his finger, so I pray for his help. Prayers going for you all.

Most often a gentle approach is the best resolution to a conflict.

Lord, I have been given today to improve myself and make life

better for others. Help me walk in the way that You lead me.

Scripture for the day:

"For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field,

God's building." ~1 Corinthians 3:9

Meditation for the day:

We are God's servants. We can serve God cheerfully and readily.

Nobody likes a servant who avoids extra work, who complains about

being called from one task to do one less enjoyable. A master would

feel that he was being ill served by such a servant. But is that not

how we so often serve God? We can view our day's work in this light.

We can try to do our day's work the way we believe God wants us to do

it, never shirking any responsibility and often going out of our way

to be of service.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be a good servant. I pray that I may be willing to

go out of my way to be of service.

36 Stress Reducers

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No, to projects that won't fit into your time schedule

or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are

often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects

over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a

concern, find out what God would have you to do and let go

of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation,

forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary

purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra

house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.,

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut.) This single piece of advice can

prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough exercise.

18. Eat right.

19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your

quality of life.

21. Write thoughts and inspirations down.

22. Everyday, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small

problems in the bud. Don't wait until its time to go to bed

to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope

is often a good "Thank you, Jesus!"

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but yourself, not at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best

they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33. Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the

universe.

36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful

for that you've never been grateful for before.

** GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU**

Meet God in the morning

I met God in the morning

when my day was at its best

His Presence was like sunshine

like a glory in my breast.

All day long He sailed beside me,

all day long He stayed with me,

And we sailed thru gentle waters

over a very troubled sea.

Other ships were torn and battered,

Other ships where so distressed

But the winds that seemed to guide them

Brought to me a peace and rest.

When I think of other mornings

with a keen remorse of mind

when I too had loosed the moorings

with His Presence left behind.

Now I think I know the secret

learnt thru many a troubled way.

You must meet God in the morning

if you want Him thru the day...

Prayer for Good Health

Blessed are You, the Lord our God,

King of the Universe,

Who fashioned man with wisdom

And created within him many openings and cavities.

It is obvious and known before Your Throne of Glory

That if but one of them were to be ruptured,

Or but one of them were to be blocked

It would be impossible to survive and stand before You.

In the merit of my appreciation for Your wondrous works,

May You grant me good health and long life.

Meditations by Padre Pio

I beg you not to worry about what I am suffering at present and will suffer

in the future. No matter how severe this suffering is, when it is placed

before the good that awaits us, it is always a delight for the soul.

Mother Teresa Said...

In loving and serving, we prove that we have been created in the likeness of

God, for God is love and when we love we are like God. That is what Jesus

meant when He said, " Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect."

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Gloria, I'm glad you are getting help with your bladder issues. Is this Young Living a company that sells supplements? I wonder if they have anything for Sciatica, although I'm getting better. I found something in the place where I get my vitamins, Swanson Vitamins, it is a spray that I spray three times a day, I just started it I'm feeling a little better so who knows it might be working.

I didn't know Nurse Practitioners could prescribe, I wish I could find one in my area but I don't know if my insurance would cover them. It seems they would recommend natural supplements more that drugs.

Counting my blessings, and blessings to all.

I lost a $16.00 of hair spray. It is on my check out slip. I prayed to St. Antony. It is no where to be found. I even checked the car. Not there. I am out $16.00 I guess. I will call Walmart and see if they forgot to package it.

Do I understand correctly? You prayed to a saint about a missing can of hairspray.

Yes I did....St Anthony will help you no matter how small the item or situation. Do you have a problem with that? Why are you treating me this way? God said to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. He also said to love one another.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Harlene - I know I posted an answer to your post - where is it?? Anyway, here it goes again and hope this time it stays - Young Living is Essential oils. The K and B tincture we ordered is from there. I"m sure you could google it and it shows you what they are. Glad you found something that's working for you. A Nurse Practitioner can do everything a doctor can except surgeries. I have a very good one we trust.

Blue - my favorite color! I'll call you Blue if you don't feel comfortable using your first name. Anyway, thanks for the Faith graphic - We need a lot of Faith!! Sorry you had to go to ER for your bladder infection away from home - one time on the way home from Texas I got it, and I heard that alka-seltzer helps, so I used that, it did help. I had nothing else for it. Thanks for posting the prayer to St. Anthony - I pray to him, too, to help me find lost things. He's there for us! Why not ask?

Nice graphics, Lucy! How are you?

Bobbiesue - glad you prayed to St. Anthony and he helped you get your hair spray back. My goodness, I would too if I paid 16.oo and it wasn't there! You did a good thing and you should NOT be ridiculed for that.

RetRN - Did you read the prayer to St. Anthony that Blue posted? It's a very common prayer and lots of people have found their lost items by asking him to intercede as he is the Patron Saint for lost items. Saints in Heaven are there to help us, and we should not forget that! Sure - we pray to God, but Mary and the Saints are there to help us pray and they do a great job of interceding. Hope that helps.
