Dolly stands next to Walmart CEO John Furner at the Newport, Tennessee Walmart store.

“Helene, Helene, Helene, Helene/You came in here and broke us all apart/Helene, Helene, Helene, Helene/But we’re all here to mend these broken hearts,” Parton sang to the tune of her 1973 song “Jolene”.

“I really wish that we were all together for another reason,” Dolly went on, without singing, “Who knew, in our little part of the country here, where I was born and raised just right down the road that we would have this kind of devastation."
"I look around and think these are my mountains, these are my valleys, these are my rivers, flowing like a stream. These are my people,” adding in conclusion, “This is my home.”
Parton said that this is a time for everyone to “step up” – and she was setting the example by donating $1 million from her own bank account. But she wasn’t stopping there.
The country mogul said that through her Dollywood Foundation and a few other organizations she organized the donation of another $1 million to The Mountain Ways Foundation.
At the same press conference Walmart CEO John Furner announced that Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation were increasing their donation to $10 million, up from the previously announced $6 million.

You can bet ya if I was a millionaire I would be helping.
These people lost everything. Some don't have a job to go back to. They are no longer receiving their income to survive.
Thank you Dolly Parton & anyone else out there that is helping.
This is devasting. It will take years to move on.
Totally agree. You said it all right here.

What a wonderful lady with a big heart!
Many of these other billionaires are so pathetically rich and couldn't care less about the less fortunate or unexpected tragedies. Their greed is so ugly. They never have enough. Pure ugliness inside them. No names but we all know them... I donated to the American Red Cross couple days ago.

750 dollars is the STANDARD AMOUNT given immediately in all of these situations by FEMA until people can apply for the rest.
Of course it's a waste of time to find out the facts, so much easier to believe manipulative lies.

@Trailrun23 You have no idea what the "HollywoodElite" have or have not donated but you're so sure you know they haven't.
