Dolly is truly a national treasure.
Being on a fixed income I donated what I could afford to WCK, they've been on the ground feeding people.

I love that she turned her "Jolene" into a song about Helene. Maybe some benefit concerts are in the offing.

@Greeneyedlady21 @scruffsmom - what organization is WCK? I haven't donated yet and want to do so wisely.
Oh wait, it's World Central Kitchen isn't it???

@Greeneyedlady21 - ok, great, thanks.
I live in Atlanta and there is nothing I would rather do than haul myself up to NC and dig in and help. To do my part to maybe ease the burden. But I am almost 69 years old, have 2 knees that more than likely need replacing and I just don't have it in me physically to do it and that makes me so, so sad. So, my helping will be through donations to a few different good organizations. WCK will be one of them.

Such a wonderful and caring sentiment. I'll donate to World Kitchen as well. I appreciate everyone bringing them up here.

I'm sticking my head in here....Please remember the victims and Dolly Partons giving spirit.
I used to think it would be nice if we could occasionally discuss politics because I am interested in hearing others views and sharing mine but now I see how naive that was of me. People just lose their minds and go into attack mode and things get so ugly. This part of human behavior is really sad and disturbing.
Some speak with such authority as if they know all the facts and know who's lying and whose not. Meanwhile people proclaim things as "fake news" and then we don't know who to believe, etc ect.
The fact is none of us know all the facts and when we listen to news that's skewed toward certain parties we only get what they want us to hear and believe.
We need to get our facts from somewhere and it should be from a neutral source, don't believe all the rhetoric and also don't just dismiss things as "fake news" if it doesn't fit into what you want to believe.....

I appreciate those bringing this thread back to its original intent before it was unfortunately spoiled by a deliberate derailment!
