Re: DEADLY MYSTERY AT ROB REINER'S HOUSE

As heinous as this crime was, I don't believe the son was in his right mind in committing these acts, therefore I don't think they would assign the death penalty.  The media mentions it, but I thought California abolished it in their State.

I do believe he should NEVER be out amongst the public again.  He needs to be kept somewhere that he could never hurt another human being again.

As far as Conan goes, what a terrible burden for him.  It's easy to tell someone, well, if you had done this, or not done that, things would be different.  We will never know.

Re: DEADLY MYSTERY AT ROB REINER'S HOUSE

What a burden now on Conan. I haven't read anything about this so has it been confirmed?

Rob himself may have asked that 9-1-1 not be called and Conan complied.

Even so there is no way to determine if an arrest would have been made and there is no way to determine if the murders would not happen later instead of sooner.

All the speculation does nothing to assume the horrific crime would not have happened.
All the speculation does nothing to ease the sorrow of the survivors and that includes Nick.

Always something new to distract and the media waits like vultures for any tidbit.

How odd some backpedal to free speech while supporting a twisted view about child abuse.

The roast didn't happen decades ago and certainly the issue was in the forefront back then.

Must have been the hope that the "uneducated" would not know the difference.

Seems the "uneducated" are those who will find the topic funny for some but not for others. Or for at least one other in the "current" situation.

Investigate, provide facts, bring to justice. No matter who.

@jellyBEAN   California does have the death penalty. It was reinstated with the Anderson Act.  It's just that executions take so long, years of appeals. Since 1992 I think we have carried out about 52 executions with over 500 on death row. We have a temporary moratorium on execution  right now though.  I'm just guessing from article a while back.mentally ill are exempt from death penalty.  It is very hard to prove insanity. But it does happen.

Does it seem creepy, for lack of a better word, that there is often a cry for the death penalty before the accused is even put on trial?

I don't consider it "creepy" in all cases.

For example, I fully support and endorse the death penalty for Luigi Mangione,  particularly given the video evidence of his premeditated,  cold-blooded, terroristic assassination and slaughter.

I'm against the death penalty in all cases. It's barbaric.

What's barbaric is killing a bunch of innocent people for the fun of it. Remember the Manson family?  Those evil wackos should've got the death penalty IMO.

Re: DEADLY MYSTERY AT ROB REINER'S HOUSE

I was reading that someone dug up an old podcast interview that Nick Reiner gave stating that he faked mental illness to get drugs in drug rehabilitation places.  He said when he wasn't given drugs he would throw a rock through a window and become violent.  He then would get medication for mental illness from the staff.  This makes me wonder if he is truly mentally ill or he has been faking it all along to get what he wants.

I am against the death penalty. Life in prison serves justice.

What is truly creepy about Mangione's case is his adoring female fans.
