I agree with you completely. It shouldn't surprise you, though, that the hatred for someone else sets hair on fire but liking Reiner well heck it's just funny.

Typical responses. The "current" is always the only one mentioned who, btw, hasn't even been shown to be involved yet the only one some around here are so focused on.

Make a joke about oh, let's say, Billy Boy and the fur would fly.

Shame on those who find such "comedy" as just comedy but find only one person guilty before even charged in that other situation as a pedophile.

So much for rights, protection, and care no matter who, what, and where.

I hope any person who has been involved in any type of abuse is found out and punished.

Making light of anything related to such horrendous actions shows some do not care about victims; just WHO might be guilty. Hoping with a hatred that is frightening.

I am against the death penalty but even if it eventually is imposed on Nick I don't remember it carried out in CA.

The complexity of Nick's mental and physical status will most definitely be a very deep task to straighten by both defense and prosecution.

The family dynamics appear so sad and sometimes people forget that Nick's parents can be anyone.

I will not get into Nick's issues with drugs and schizophrenia since we all can issues opinions that will just repeat.

I feel sorry for the whole family and that includes Nick.
It's easy to say he had the best care or if Cobenfy (if that is the new treatment being mentioned) exacerbated his symptoms.

We can only bow our heads in sorrow for people who suffer be it the Reiners or the unknown still not cared for.

The year 2,000 wasn't exactly olden days. The show 'To Catch a Predator' aired in 2004, and we sure were talking about predators long before that.

@Cakers3, thanks, though I didn't intend to make a political post, but I understand what you're saying.

If anyone wants to watch snippets of the roast, it's available on youtube for now, though who knows? It may just disappear one of these days.

Just type in Rob Reiner Roast, or even 'Rob Reiner Roast, Al Franken comments', etc.

I feel badly for Nick too.

@tansy  Hi tansy!!  I am sure I know the roast they are referring to. It was done more 20 years ago.maybe look up Rob Reiner roast with Billy crystal if you want.  
It's trending of course.  Roasts can be pretty vile. Example,  I love Joan, still miss her in this world... she made me smile. But, I wouldn't watch one of her concerts or a roast. They do push envelopes. It's just me!!  It great for those who want to attend, free speech n all. What I find as sick, is people bringing something up, that really has nothing to do with Rob's memory, anything he said.its perpetuating something from the past as if it was spoken today.   I  hope these posters don't take  this thread south.  Maybe discuss it on another thread. Has nothing to do with Rob and Michelle's death, or Nick. Just sayin.

Well, the blame game is starting ...

I just saw a news blurb that said "if Conan O'Brien hadn't prevented his guests from calling 911, the Reiners would still be alive."

Maybe, maybe not.  

What a mess, and what a horrible thing to have been involved in.  It's going to be a very long time before Conan has another party.

@ yes, it's like you wonder how comforting some of these people would be at a memorial, (or service ) for your family member.  Real comforting ? . I can see myself grieving in front pew, and someone speaking about something that was done 39 years ago. Actually, half the stuff out there is rumor, innuendo. Soon all will be revealed. I am willing to wait. I think we know basically how Rob and Michelle lived their life. It's pretty documented. Instead of accusations and conspiracy stuff, let the kids grieve.  Respect their privacy and wait.  JMO

I read that Conan O’Brien had the party, because he wanted to bring some joy after the very tough year. The fires that destroyed homes and people lost their lives and the loss of both his parents. First his Dad died then 4 months later his Mom died unexpectedly.


A few weeks ago I watched a Podcast Conan and another comedian did where they spoke about the texts they sent back and forth regarding his parent’s deaths. They tried to make some humor of it all saying that’s how they deal with such loss. And they admitted not everyone could do that during such an emotional time.



But I can almost guarantee that no humor whatsoever will ever come about regarding this unbelievably tragic event !

At this time, no one knows if this will go to trial or not..What is horrific is how they died in such a violent manner. I have many questions regarding his mental state at the time of the murders.

I had read that he had violent episodes and the family treated him differently. He had always been difficult. I can't even imagine the nightmares Romy must be having. My empathy goes out to the family. It will be interesting to see what happens on January 7th when he goes before the judge.
