Re: DEADLY MYSTERY AT ROB REINER'S HOUSE

It seems reasonable if he doesn't go to trial as long as he is committed and can never be released.

Gee, I guess I didn't realize that offering your child up to be used se~ually by your pals is funny, or that luring kids into a van is hilarious, or having your dad hop into bed w/ you & 'slathering you up' is a riot.

My mistake!

I have heard many roasts but they never were as vile and vulgar as the Rob Reiner roast.  I also did not find it funny.

Okay, @sabatini. That sounds very, uh, "current," you know?

I might look for the roast later today to hear what was said.

I love humor of all types but I have never been a fan of celeb roasts. One of the reasons I wasn't particularly a Joan Rivers' fan.

Does the roast reference Nick and his problems, @lgfan?

Yes, it does.  Al Franken made a comment saying that Reiner believed in nurturing children until the age of three and then letting them loose among his friends so they could be molested or something to that effect.  There were also many references to children like Reiner getting them into a van or ordering "pizza" five nights a week made by Billy Crystal.  I guess pizza is a code word for pedophelia.  It was a disgusting roast.

@tansy, I hear you about Roasts - I've never liked them either. But this one was definitely not normal. Just listen to Al Franken, then Billy Crystal too. It's sick. And in Crystal's monologue he quickly threw in the word "revenge" out of the blue, and it didn't seem to have any bearing on what he was saying at the time. (Why?!)

Just bizarre, and definitely makes you think of all the rumors and conspiracy theories of rampant paedophilia in Hollywood.

Re: DEADLY MYSTERY AT ROB REINER'S HOUSE

Will Nick be found incompetent to stand trial?

This doesn't mean how many illnesses he has and how bad they are.

It means does Nick understand the legal process and can he participate in his defense.

If he can't, he will be treated until he can. If he never can, he will stay in treatment until he can or forever.

Re: DEADLY MYSTERY AT ROB REINER'S HOUSE

Since he was obviously OUT OF HIS HEAD when he committed the murders declaring doubt as to his competency makes more sense than going to trial and pleading not guilty by reason of insanity.

I’m thinking whatever legal avenue his Atty chooses to goes down will keep him in an institution forever.

Rob Reiner was against the Death Penalty and even as a victim I bet his family knows that is not something he would want to happen to his son.

Besides I can’t imagine what it will do to Nick If they get his meds under control and he sees in court what he did to his parents when he killed them.
