In this case, to me, the word "hosts" is just another word for salesperson

I would assume vendors are on their own for transportation to PA, meals and hotels. Maybe rides are provided from hotels to the studio.

From the QVC Vendor Guide, readily accessible on line;  some interesting insight.

“At Home” Equipment and Skype: Vendors and Guests are responsible for the equipment needed to Skype into virtual QVC on-air presentations. Vendors are also responsible for ensuring that their Guests have product samples for their Skype airings, if needed (QVC does not send or loan samples).

On-Air Guests: Vendors appearing on QVC’s multiplatform channels are responsible for selecting and hiring their own on-air Guest presenters and product experts. If you need some assistance in identifying potential candidates, QVC can provide Guest options with varying backgrounds and experience in a range of product categories.

Vendors are free to find their own candidates or consider the candidate options provided by QVC.   QVC provides options through the Portfolio Pad casting system.  Vendors review and discuss the opportunity directly with the candidates.

All negotiations are expressly between the Vendor and Guest candidate. QVC does not take part in any portion of the negotiations for any Guest opportunities.

Travel to and from QVC Studios in West Chester, Pennsylvania : When required, you are responsible for all travel expenses associated with visiting QVC for required product-related meetings, New Vendor Onboarding program,Guest Training, and/or on-air presentations.

Model Services: You will discuss the need for model(s) with your QVC Category Producer; cost depends on time.

@beach-mom

It's always interesting to find out ins-and-outs of businesses we frequent.

The reason I believe some feel this could be shut down is due to inside information. I'm trying to be as vague as possible to avoid being removed, but I did have some actual information that I posted once and it was removed. Also, employees of QVC , current or past,  cannot reveal certain information. Enough said.

Re: DD Met Someone Who Worked at QVC!

I live in the area of QVC and have seen many of the host out and about.  I have seen David at the grocery store many times.  I don't say anything, just let him do his thing.  There is a Sheraton Hotel fairly close to the QVC campus that I know guests have stayed at.  I know that QVC has also used the Desmond Hotel, Mary Beth's retirement party was there.

A favorite eatery is the Classic Diner that has fantastic food.  I saw a table full of hosts and models there a few years ago.  They are just people doing their thing just like the rest of us.

@jeepgrl - That's so interesting, and you're so lucky!

DS has encountered celebrities too. He was an extra in a popular movie when they filmed on his college campus. He met one of the stars who he said was a really nice guy.

He also filled in for one of his friends as an usher at an independent movie theater. A popular TV star came in alone to watch the movie. When he told me I said, "Oh, did you get to talk to him?" (I was excited!) He said, "Mom - the guy is just trying to see a movie by himself. I wasn't going to bother him!"

His senior year he lived with 4 others around the corner from a huge star. He never met her!

One of my friend's sisters lived in the same California neighborhood as Richard Gere when he was married to Cindy Crawford. She shopped at the same stores he did and often ran into him. She said everyone was just used to seeing him around and they all just treated him as another neighbor. She also said he was very nice!

(Sorry I went a little OT!). Smiley Wink
