Re: DD Met Someone Who Worked at QVC!

I recall Harry Slatkin saying he fell asleep in the green room or a dressing room once, and he woke up to find the place closed up and he was chilly and alone. I (think) it came up this winter while talking about a throw during a crossover that may have been a TSV or something.

Re: DD Met Someone Who Worked at QVC!

Not long ago I heard a host, maybe Pat, say that she had checked into a motel during inclement weather so that she was able to get to work.

The Walliens have often mentioned their townhouse in the Westchester area.  Since Susan Graver is there so often she may have her own place also.

Re: DD Met Someone Who Worked at QVC!

Gosh, I have met many folks from QVC.

I met Courtney K at the QVC outlet when she first became a host!

I have been to a live show as well as a focus group on the West Chester grounds, and I have met many of the hosts.

I met a jewelry buyer who decided to work at a KoP mall jewelry store instead.

QVC staff are just regular working people like many of us.

Whenever forum writers criticize hosts, I just roll my eyes.

Life is too short to worry so much about people who are not a part of your circle of family and friends!

Re: DD Met Someone Who Worked at QVC!

I think it would be fun to know some little details as well.  I have been to the QVC campus in West Chester and it's a large building with a huge parking lot.  It's either in or near an industrial office park.

If I worked at midnight (like Jane often does) I would feel uncomfortable walking out to my car unless they have guards on duty at night.  I'm also not a big fan of driving by myself in the dark late at night.

So even if they lived nearby, I would prefer to be able to sleep there and shower if I worked certain hours.  I really don't know how close a decent hotel is but even then who feels like arriving at a hotel at 2 am?

I know several live in the general area but not all are very close by.  I could be wrong, but I think Pat lives in NJ about an hour away.

Re: DD Met Someone Who Worked at QVC!

I have lived in Philadelphia my entire life and over the years I have met quite a few people that worked at QVC in West Chester, PA.  I have not told any of the stories here on this forum and never will. Oh the stories I could tell. The hosts you may think are wonderful, kind, pious, friendly, etc., well, everybody has different sides of their personality. We are all not the same person all of the time.  That's all I'm going to say.

When Bob Mackie was on QVC he often mentioned staying in a local hotel in the West Chester area.  He often spoke about going to breakfast at a local eatery in the area as well.

@ajsidney12 - I remember Harry telling that story. It was quite funny. He was showing the sample throw he used to keep himself warm.

@PhilaLady1 @Thanks for not sharing details.

I appreciate that you realize none of us is perfect and we sometimes act in ways that are not pretty, or have been misinterpreted.

i think it has to be hard to be publicly known and have your every word or move under someone's microscope.
