Re: DANGEROUS WEATHER

That's right @Luvsmyfam Many people's jobs require them to be at work regardless of the weather.

@ROMARY  to your point, we have lived in a rural area all our lives. My work was 35 miles away, (70 round trip) and at one point I drove 100 miles one way to work. Never missed for weather in the entire 40 years I worked and didn't always have a 4 wheel drive vehicle! One time, I showed up for work and only the Administrator was there, she couldn't believe I made it in as the county was under a level 1 snow emergency, lol! Now, ice is a different story, so dangerous. Stay safe and warm this week!

We are expecting snow in New Orleans tomorrow. Actually, snow across the whole Gulf Coast. According to the weather people this is going to be a "historic" weather event not seen since 1895.

We get a dusting of snow every 5-10 years or so, but they're calling for an accumulation of anywhere from 3 to 5 inches depending on location.  Absolutely unheard of around here!

We lucked out.  Bitter cold but the snow was managable.  About 2" or so.  Windy too.  It helps get the snow off.  Until the next show day......

@raspberrygal   What time should I arrive?

@ROMARY   I worked for 44 years and can't recall being late for work.  I'd be shoveling or clearing the car at 530-6 am.  Some would show up two hours late because of snow.    Just the work ethic we were taught.

Our low temp they say is the lowest in 10 years here in SW PA.  Should be back to normal Thursday.  (Hoping).  Now retired it's my first winter I don't have to shovel at 530 am.

Thoughts and prayers to all during your exceptionally cold weather.  I lived in N.J. for 12 years and do not miss the frigid temps.  Here in So. Cal. we have our own weather problems - namely the Santa Ana winds.  We are having another very strong wind event today through Wednesday.  I just pray that we don't have a repeat of the horrible fires of last week.  They are still burning and I hope these winds do not cause more problems.  They have brought in many more fire crews and have trucks stationed in many areas that are so vulnerable to these horrible conditions.  We live in what our power co. calls a high risk fire area, although not close to the fires of last week.  We have lost power many times over the last few months, last week we lost it for 2 1/2 days with very little warning of a shut off.  Stay safe everyone.
